Great art. Great idea.
I love how the rays of light contrast with the drab, cloudy sky. They're nice and subtle too.
After all these Disney princess movies, I'd be surprised if this hasn't happened yet, hahaha.
You've placed your ideas down so well. Even the clothes that the girl's wearing kinda tells us everything we need to know about this girl. The setting is also brilliant. It's not very cliché. It has very much captured the realism of the situation.
If I have to find any criticism, I'd say, maybe, work on making the lip physics (?) a little more realistic. It is nice that you have such a basic background, because it doesn't distract from the focal point. But, maybe there could be some tiny pebbles/insects/tufts of vegetation in the mud or subtle ripples on the water, just to add a bit more texture to the world.
That's only nitpicking for the sake of it though. I really do love this picture. Good job :)

I have had this idea bouncing around in my head for a long time, but I've never had the skills to pull it off, until now :) Super happy with how this turned out! Getting better at values I think, whew, its so hard x_x

Oh my goodness! Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a thoughtful comment. I totally agree with you on the lips, it was super hard trying to do the pucker, it was a first for me. As for the details, I totally could have pushed this a little farther, but I am so prone to getting bored I often only paint on an illustration for a max of three days. Once I hit that point I want to move on so a lot of what could be turns into what never will be lol. I do love those little gems you mentioned however, the tiny details you can discover as you explore, I'm hoping to incorporate that more into my future paintings. I am trying new things though all the time, maybe I'll try to come back to this piece sometime down the road and push it farther :) Thanks again so much!! <3

You can do anything! Art is a skill, just like learning to play piano, play soccer or video games. The more you do something, the better you get. If you find you are passionate and you invest the time, you'll improve!
Oh, and who knows about the warts, but maybe there's a chance hes a Prince!

The only thing I would refine is the water. Maybe some reflections or gradient to create the perspective..?
I think you're great at coloring. I like how the girl with the frog pops out of the background and how 3D her clothes look. :)
Thanks sooo much :) The water was nearly the last thing I did on the painting, my issue is sometimes I lose interest, especially with background elements. I'm trying to curb that bad habit because you are totally right, it would have looked a bit more cohesive with some reflections.
