I got 2 hours of sleep last night, and 4-5 hours of sleep the night before. I'm sure you can hear why...
To me, any view of our existence that deviates from the simple truth of what our life really means is a distraction. It clouds our minds and prevents us from enjoying life as it comes to us. So many people are asking about what it all means, but truthfully... the meaning doesn't matter. That's the wrong question to ask. Instead, I search for beauty and happiness and enjoy it while it lasts, because theorizing about why I'm here or focusing on preparing myself for some kind of phantom life after this one will keep me from what we all have the right to experience right here, right now.
This song is meant to be a display. A sort of performance. A wake up call, where the music itself describes the emotions of somebody (in Kadamitas, Namara) who's trying to show people that they already have what they're really looking for. And though this creates strife within Namara, in the end he realizes that there's only so much he can do.
-Tools: Ableton Live, Composer Cloud, Massive, QL Spaces
-Some sounds were recorded myself (eg. I added breaths to the duduk to make it sound a little bit more real).
-This took me about 20 hours in total.
-This will be in the NGUAC (2017) for the knockout round.

I like the tranquil mood at the beginning and the instruments. The mid-range bass instrument at :25 sounds a little harsh, yet also blends into the texture pretty well. The string solo at :40 was beautiful. Excellent job with the sound design and progression here. Wonderful use of phrasing from 1:00 - 1:30. I like the tempo automations, too. The piece began feeling a little minimalistic by that point, but then you came in with another gorgeous string melody at 1:55. I really wish the melody had been more up-front in the mix, though, because (as cool as the harmonies are there), the melodic content should really take precedent. I guess my main complaint is that the piece has very little cohesion - it’s hard to pick out repetition in the structure, and I find that problematic. I also thought the transition at 4:11 was rather abrupt. Still, the piece is rather smooth-flowing overall, and has a really great atmosphere and creative sound design. Keep up the good work, LucasMasoch! ;)
