I received a ton of PMs this week from people who were still hoping to buy a 2009 calendar, so we're taking a leap of faith and ordering 100 more. Depending on the demand, this will likely be the last batch of 2009 calendars, so order SOON if you want one! Orders that include calendars will not ship until December 8th, when the new batch arrives.

Liljim and Bob have updated the search bar! Now when you're searching by title, a list of suggestions will appear under the input box as you type the search phrase. You can click submissions to access them directly, or continue with your search.

Today's Wacom winner is FleckoGold! Flecko has been animating with a tablet for the past three years, but his tablet is on its last leg and is having a lot of technical issues. It's time to get Flecko back on the road with a shiny new tablet that works!

Flecko submitted his first completed Flash in 2005, based on a character he created in 6th grade. He later followed it with a sequel.

Throughout 2006, Flecko formed The Elite Super Society of Ninjas and Samurai and participated in Pico Day!

In 2007, Flecko was a nominee for Movie of the Year, with Aladdin 3150. The trophy went to Phillips though.

More recently, Flecko participated in the Metal Gear Solid collab, as well as the Halloween contest!

He's also dabbling with games, as part of his coursework at school.

Keep an eye out for more from FleckoGold, as well as more collaborations with PresidentZen, who did the writing for Flecko's Halloween! And for anyone wondering, YES we'll be getting writers more involved in 2009. Just wait and see!

I'll be posting every day from now until Christmas Eve, with daily Wacom winners and other assorted news.

This post by KartuneHustla sums up a lot of what is great about NG.

Check out these other Wacom winners:

1. LazyMuffin
2. Master-Samus
3. W-P-S
4. Artist-Lost
5. Falconer02
6. Anigen
7. Decade
8. TimFrommeyer
9. Night-Mare
10. Blordow
11. YungJazz
12. Five-Iron

Flecko is a grand animator, it's great that you help him out Tom.

So I got this new, snazzy thing. I think they call it a signature.

I know his flashes Aladdin 3150 and Flecko's Halloween. I don't remember which part he had in the MSG Collab, but either way Flecko really deserves it. Congrats!

Actually I think the idea came from Google... And YouTube has nothing on us, since it's basically Newgrounds for video and not as cool.

I don't even know where to start with that. Look, there's really nothing that Youtube has done that hasn't already done before - it's just that they had the financial backing to support the traffic they received from launch. Just because you see a feature on Youtube, it doesn't mean that they did it first.

A very simple example of that would be reviews (or comments). They were set up here in 2000, and Youtube didn't even exist until 2005. Does that mean that Youtube was copying Newgrounds? Probably not, but it'd be as an obtuse observation as the one you've made about auto completion.

Nice try to save yourself, but no cigar, man.

Again, as so many people have said already about several of the winners of the wacom contest, I didn't know that this guy used a mouse.

I mean, it makes you think: If this many respected animators rely on computer mice to draw, what would happen if wacoms were more widely available? Honestly, if wacom tablets and tablet PCs were more accessible, flash animations would probably become MUCH better to look at in general, creating a revolution in flash art. It's just much more intuitive to use a tablet. I know, since I have a tablet PC laptop (my college required a tablet laptop, so I got one, although I think it's fucking sweet no matter what). My drawing has definitely improved, and using a mouse NEVER worked for me. The proliferation of tablets could make flash animation in general much more aesthetically pleasing in general.

Thank you, Tom, for helping it happen.

Well Luxury the Awesome series is still shit so IMHO I don't think a Wacom will always affect an artist's drive for originality and graphics.

But I would love to see more tablets handed out, having a tablet is something I think everyone should experience.

Awesome, congrats Flecko! I think I first saw his part in the MGS collab and I especially liked his part, so I checked out his other stuff and saw Aladdin 3150, which I thought I had seen in the Top 50 before, so I checked it out and I thought it was simply amazing! He very much deserves this prize. Well done!

I never understood why you never continued TESSONAS?

...I loved that mediocre series... :(

Anyway, congratulations, I'm sure you'll do much with the tablet, given your history of consistently outstanding animation.
