For anyone who doesn't know him, he has a Youtube channel named "recordingrevolution"
where he gives alot of tips about mixing and recording.
I signed up on his mailing list and he actually has a lot of good advice.

Today I read about a trick where you fade in with high to normal volume on a course of 1 or 2 seconds to give a certain track some focus when otherwise it would "escape" the mix.

you can read about it here: https://www.recordingrevolution.com/every-track-sits-perfectly-in-mix/

do you guys know him? what do you think about him?
Is there anyone else you know worth listening to?

I'm familiar with his podcast (Simply Recording). It doesn't have a lot of novel material per se, but it's a good source for refreshers on concepts and techniques and such. I also tend to subscribe to his recording philosophy (keeping things simple, trying to get stuff right at the source, etc.)

I actually think he's great to learn from, especially for beginners.

He has an approach to teaching mixing that many people don't.
He only teaches what he thinks is actually important... he doesn't unnecesarrily over-complicate everything.

If you learn compression from graham, you're going to learn all you need to know to initially understand compression without being overwhelmed with information that isn't as important as the fundamentals.
