not at all
I would certainly hope so. We need this community to thrive again.
I can see a decline in the quality of Youtube as well, but truthfully I feel like the content that gets by on that site nowadays is really just complaining and drama. It weirdly bugs me, because I the old youtube-and I mean OLD youtube-the hottest things were actually entertaining in a more physical sense. Like that flaming fart guy, and afro ninja.
But I guess I'm not one to talk, I don't put out videos every week for even hundreds of views. Maybe someday though...
I think it's become way too streamlined, not to mention commercialized. We can't have customizable profile layouts because it's gotta be as uniform as possible so grandma won't get lost. We can't have statistics of #1 Director in X country or whatever because that would clutter the channels. There are strong alternatives like SocialBlade and plugins to fill that gap, but come on, there's no reason for them to remove that besides "it looks better without".
Back in the day it was easier to get noticed. It was hard to upload a video and not get ANY views. This is now standard for people without a following. One of the first videos I uploaded got well over 7,000 views without having any subscribers whatsoever, which is pretty much impossible now unless you're featured externally, like on Reddit for example.
Also, Google has been testing out a Material Design version of YouTube for a while now, and my god does it look like fucking shit. The interface is super cumbersome for a media website, because the navigation is too slow with those huge ass menus and buttons, there's also not as much information (videos, links) on the screen etc.. So lots of horizontal scrolling (ugh).
And the channels look just as horrible except they're back to being taking up the full viewport, i.e. they're without all the useless shit on the sides. Still no customization options though, it seems the channel color is determined what banner you have.
YouTube has always been shit, now you've barely realized? Clickbait and shit "content" creators (GTA clickbaiters COD clickbaiters, reaction channels, etc) have ruined YouTube and taken advantage of the system the last two years or so.
Youtube's been shit for years.
-You can no longer view & respond to comments from the notification bar.
-I think they removed the ability to mute threads, so you need to either put up with getting a hundred notifications because somebody started a flamewar in a comment you made in 2012, or you get no notifications on anything.
-Even if you set Youtube to notify you when a channel uploads a video, sometimes they still won't.
-That insane fucking algorithm that seems to take down and demonitize videos at complete random.
-They just recently removed annotations which is going to screw up a lot of videos. Hopefully they're not taking down annotated links.
Google must be trying to push people off Youtube and onto Google+ or something. We'll just have to spam Youtube with Newgrounds-shilling videos until we get that delicious boost in traffic.
but 2019 was still better than youtube nowadays

It’s where you comment on a thread, this one is old so people might not like that you bumped it.

It's reviving an old thread which isn't allowed.
Definitely not. YouTube are a calculating company, you ever notice how people complain and complain and nothing happens? It's because people are comfortable.
The same way that boiling a frog, you have to turn up the heat slowly, if YouTube were to just introduce all this shit that pissed creators off at once, people might actually leave, but YouTube does it in increments so it always seems like things could be worse. Everyone on YT who complains does too well on there to leave.
EDIT: just realized the age of this thread. I rest my case.
I need a tanning bed, a 3D life to keep me from the cold.
I'm sure Tom Fulp can share the moths from his wallet
