Welcome to AltShift - the latest entry into the Negative Space Exploring Puzzler, Shift!

I know mostly around the internet, people hate games that aren't free - this is a version of the full commercial edition of AltShift designed to be played in the browser by making use of the Mochi Coins system, please be aware that this is not a free game and don't judge it too harshly based on that fact :p It's got plenty of Free content and if you like this and have enjoyed the other Shifts in the past and feel like supporting it after playing it through then that's awesome.

Here's what the package contains, Challengers:

Over 80 Mind Boggling levels with Brand new Game mechanics, Expert level packs, minigames and level by level remakes of Shift 1 and Shift 2 in a brand new Engine! 4 Different types of gameplay, An epic story and Boss Battle! The full version has so much to offer, it might just explode! So get ready to have your mind warped by this brand new take on the Flash Classic!

This is a BIG step up from the Shift I remember. I legitimately got stuck on a lot of the puzzles, especially in chapter 2.

The bevel effect is overused, the animations when you enter doors is a little long which is annoying, and it's easy to get stuck and have to replay long chunks of levels which can be more tedious than challenging, and the pushing and gravity mechanics are kind of par for the course for a lot of puzzle platformers. However, when the puzzles started involving manipulating the gravity and color of the boxes the game really came into its own and felt genuinely challenging and engaging.

Double Hole is currently bugged; if you push the box into the shift icon, it doesn't actually flip/change color.

WOW!!!

I have never played a puzzler/platformer with more innovative and ingenius mechanics!

AND there's a story TOO?!?!

woah

...

meh

A large step down from Shift.

I have no choice but to compare this to the main game, Shift.
That said, compared to Shift and its squeals, this game was disappointing.

The story was EVERY GAME STORY we've already seen before. Shift's story is unique and surprising.
The characters felt too toony in comparison, but that's not so bad.
The levels didn't connect to each other in any way, they felt unrelated - like when you play Player Packs in the Shift series. It was very linear.

Minigames are hardly a plus. If I want to play a sliding puzzle or a spot-the difference, I'll go to that kind of game. Why would I look for that kind of gameplay in Shift? (or AltShift)
Lastly, half of the game isn't available, and that cheeses off the average player.

The only thing about this that I like, is that the boxes function like part of the backgorund, you can shift through them. That was neat.
