Double Date

A date between a villain and a super hero.. what will become of that?

This is a Thesis film made by 3 people for the Grafisch Lyceum Rotterdam in the Netherlands. (2017)
We had a set period of time to make this, so we are aware that the scenes have quick transitions. We hope you enjoy regardless. :)

Interesting idea

And here you have an interesting idea I like that it's a reverse couple of characters and that makes it good I do have to say that you could make the animation a bit more smoother and maybe more texture and detail in the artwork itself and that's just a few ideas to help on improvments but anyways that's my input

~~THINGS TO IMPROVE ON~~
Some smoother animation to start and more detail in art

Oh haha, it's been a while since someone responded on this. It feels like ages ago since I worked on this. Trust me, I improved a lot already! I am hoping to release a new movie soon! (around 2 to 3 months)

Thank you for your feedback however! I will keep it in mind!

I don't want to sound harsh (because I couldn't do better), but I feel the only reason this animation has such a high score is because it portrays a gay couple. The art and animation is rough at times, and jumpy to non existant at others. I mean, the transitions were incredibly rushed at times. There's plenty of room for improvement.

On the other hand, I really liked that you set your story in the Netherlands. I also liked the very last scene, I felt it was a nice touch.

Anyways, keep it up.

CurlySparklebud responds:

Thank you for taking the time to review the animation CN!

I have to say that I agree on your opinion. The animation was very rushed and most of the scenes were done in the last 2 weeks. I myself worked non stop from 9 am till 8 pm that time. A lot of the sketch animations I received missed a lot of key frames and were not properly timed. And as the one who inked, colored and put the whole project together that was very annoying. I've spend a lot of time adding extra frames. A lot of scenes were removed as well due to our sketch animator deciding not to make them on their own and due to having little time in the end which is what resulted in said rushed transitions besides the lack of frames.

To keep it short: I agree that the animation itself could have used more effort. I for one am determined to improve my skills to make better projects in the future. I am not done with animation yet ;)

Regardless, I am glad to hear you liked the ending! Again thank you for taking the time to review the animation! I hope I answered some questions!

Nice Animation.

CurlySparklebud responds:

Thank you Arventos!

Could I be one of them. We should totally go on a double date ;)

CurlySparklebud responds:

Of course pika-mation! You're more than welcome to join in the fun! ;D

Smooth and well done. I really like the character designs particularly. Well done!

CurlySparklebud responds:

Thank you JT! We put a lot of love and effort into them!
