End result of my 2017 gamejam. Made under 1 week :)

Control 3 characters: paladin, rogue and wizard. Each character has their own role. One is attacker, another will defend others and last one uses tools. Roles can be change any time during battle. Each role has their advantages/disadvantages so change roles wisely!

There are 3 different enemy types in the game: warrior, ranger and mage. Each enemy type behaves differently and has their own advantages/disadvantages.

Collect trophies after you kill an enemy. These trophies can be used to resurrect your dead comrade(s) on resurrection shrines.

Gamepad is highly recommended for optional gameplay experience.

Enjoy! ^^

Basically has 5 animations, not including a changing direction animation. It takes the idea of a diverse role-swapping trio like Sonic Heroes does, but fails entirely. Regardless of who does what, the person at the front never moves so they take all the damage. There's also no explanation of the powers the mage has and the enemies are way too powerful. There's such a thing as scaling enemy levels to give the player a fair chance. The point of 'hacknslash' is to actually hack and slash, not have to avoid all the enemies because they nearly one-hit K.O.

The art and music are good and invoke a classic RPG feel, unfortunately what could have been a good concept in the swapping mechanic wound up being a mess due to confusing character angles, something which feels like a shortcut given the possibility of animating downward or upward facing sprites, and that the characters always stay in the same position which really throws off the aim of the attacking character.

I want to wish all fellow game designers and artists good luck in the Construct 3 Game Jam!

Mechanics would work better if the characters swapped position - whoever's attacking should always be in front, since that's where you're aiming your attacks from.

Maybe Im missing what to do in the game, but I enjoy the concept. The controls work, so no problem there. I guess since there isn't any real direction to what you need to accomplish in a "fight", I just dont feel like I had fun. Graphics 3/5. Control 5/5. Theme 3/5. Instruction 2/5.

Fun idea, I would maybe polish up the mechanics a bit - for example, the characters rotate upside down and stuff when turn. Keep it up :)
