the story definitely is interesting, and i'm hyped for the next episode.
however, i've noticed that the same things bothering me in the first episode came back in the second and third episode.
for example, the first episode felt like a tutorial for the next parts, with how the (dialogue-)choices didn't matter. i had hoped that you could at least direct the story in the other parts, even if just in a minor way (choices get referenced later, or unlock different choices at later points resulting in dialogue which explains some stuff).
the inventory system is bad. it's really bad. at first, i thought it was just a tutorial on how to use the inventory system. i felt cheated when i realized that his was the inventory system.
it feels too motherly. it constantly tells us what to click and doesn't allow us to try stuff out. and it only functions on a scripted basis, which feels forced and unnatural, as if someone had pitched the inventory idea at the last second, and then it just got tacked on.
there was an earlier review on yout first part, which i had hoped you'd follow, in which some guy told you how to improve the inventory system without influencing the storyline.
basically, he told you to make the player able to use every item, and picking the wrong item results in meaningless dialogue or a "game over animation" (which, of course, sets you back to the item select screen).
seeing how you did not improve in quality from the first part is kinda disappointing.
nevertheless, i give you 4 stars, because the story is interesting and i like the artstyle, and obviously a lot of effort went into these, and i'm looking forward for the next part^^.
