for some reason your work reminds me of silent hill. which is a good thing, its a style that is in a category of its own. anything uniquely weird such as this is something to be praised in my book.

A Long-Awaited Return
After 8 months, David Firth finally returned to the series that made him one of the most popular Flash artists on Newgrounds.
One would think to expect some drastic changes over that period of time, but as far as content and plot art concerned, this is a classic Salad Fingers animation. If anything, the animation and style have only increased in quality. If there is any detraction that needs to be mentioned, it's the lack of humour. This installment is much more dark and disturbing than amusing. It picks up where the conclusion of Episode 5 left off as far as mood and tone. Episode 5 proves to be as disturbing as any other Salad Fingers episode.

I can understand all of the attempts at interpretation provided for this and other works by Firth, however I disagree with them on principle. This is not to say that it would be impossible to give a plausible interpretation, or even one that closely resembles Firth's original intentions, but rather that it is undesirable to do so. I believe that this piece and others like it are most powerful when they take the viewer down his or her own schizophrenic paths outside of where reasonable explanations are adequate. This is what, in my opinion, makes Salad Fingers one of the most innovative animations of all time.
