My View of It
As i've read down no one seems to understand it so heres my view.
The man has done something horrible to some he may have loved. He feels regret and is in a huge set of depression. She reminds he of the one he "killed" and its hurts him even more.
The reason he pulls his gun out is because he possibly wants to die because of the huge amount of regret he felt at what he had done,
and the rest of it i really dont understand. like the girl crying. idk about that
