good game!

very good graphics and very good gameplay there is no problem with fire i dont know what ur talking about mightywayne
keep up the good work!

SecretSecretary responds:

Some people can jump the fire, others cant.

Cool idea, but needs some work on the gameplay.

I´ll start with the good first :
The story was cool, not very original, but cool anyway.
The graphics were lovely, I liked the "shadow" look you gave to everything.
The overall concept was very well planned and designed, it´s you and your horse in a race against the world.
BUT the bad is very bad actually :

The attacks don´t feel right, at all. The attack animations are akward and innacurate, a milisecond difference in timing even (specially) when jumping, allows the enemy to hurt you EVEN when you hit them, this became really annyoing with the zombies and got me cursing very loudly. You can´t make an attack animation last for 2 seconds, at least not in this game.
The other annoying thing was the fact that enemies actually stop you when you get hit, Maybe you tought of this as a "difficulty" that was worth adding; but in practice, when I´m riding a horse and a bat bites me, a wolf tries to bite my horse, or heck ... even if a zombie stands in my way with his "almighty hand of death", My horse would run over them like if they were not there.
It´s VERY frustrating to be stopped when you run, specially when that strange demon comes from out of nowhere and beats you to death, just because you were in the "recovery lag" that happens after a zombie stops you ...
Think about this, you should be able to run over enemies, at the cost of health if you want, but RUN OVER THEM.

Congrats anyway on a well-done game, hope to see it get better.
Good luck.

SecretSecretary responds:

LOL this was funny. Thanks for the tips. I'll definitely will consider them in the future.

Lol are you serious?

You get points on the graphics and sound, but dude, I couldn't get past the fire in the introduction. Like seriously, why did you even program knockback for damage? I tried thrice and died all times. Call me a noob, but I've been playing games for 15 years and that's just simply bad planning.

SecretSecretary responds:

I think all I should have done was to make that certain fire smaller. I might change it in the future and upload it again. and maybe try to fix other things as well.

This was a good game and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I like the simple way the game operated and yet the complexity you added to it. Also the plot was quite intriguing. The woodcutter avenged his wife and saved the land, but now he was nothing left. All I can say is that where there is life, there is hope. You just gotta find it.

SecretSecretary responds:

Nice, thanks :)

Fun

Fun, simple but solid plot and well put together. None of the writing made me cringe with embarrassment for the author. The gameplay is exacting without being unfair; it is entirely possible to get through the whole thing without taking a hit. Mind, it wasn't always immediately obvious how to do this, and this led to some early frustration, but it was rewarding enough figuring it out to make that frustration okay. You did, however, neglect to mention that the down arrow does something, namely ducking while sliding, and since this is eventually important, it should have been in the instructions.
Perhaps the woodcutter should consider piracy? (let's see how many get that)

SecretSecretary responds:

Nice that you learned that ducking move. And you can only do it whilst running. I probably shoulda mentioned that.
