Reviews for "Medieval Rampage"

Nice Game

It took a while for me to finish the campaign, but I made it through without dieing.
Well, I did die on my first try, but on my 2nd try, I made it without dieing.I got all the medals except for the last one...

Devotion +10.75. %u02C6-%u02C6

Excellent overall game; So excellent that I wanted to play it through completely, until all the achievements were unlocked. A staggering ten hours and forty-five minutes of devotion.

%u2022 Nothing mentionable by me is any different than the last few reviews prior, in a pro-sense.

Only two cons that I have:

%u2022 Occasionally when there's a fair gap between enemies and the player, they'll swing and regardless of the distance between by the time they've swung, the player gets hit. A bit frustrating in surival but otherwise pretty harmless.

%u2022 After the ten-hours and forty-five minutes playing the game for both annihilation and achievements' sake, the background music gets a little bit too repetitive. Unsure if anyone else has really played it enough to get the eye-roll anytime a new game's started. ×.×

Extremely worth a play. Favorited (Game, Author).

Now For A Proper Review

Gotta say this is one of the finest games that I have seen on Newgrounds in some time. Being able to change bows/arrows on the fly was a nice touch as I didn't have to buy the later bows on my first playthrough. But enough of the flattery, lets get to the review:

Graphics: 9/10---can't get much better than this
Sound: 7/10---an idea for the sequel would be a unique score for each set of waves or a unique score for the boss battles and final boss. Great single score for this game, though.
Gameplay: 8/10---My only quaff is that the bosses were too similar to each other i.e. teleport and/or Jax's cresent shot. Definitely keep them sending their grunts during the boss battles though.
Difficulty: 10/10---A near perfect difficulty balance and learning curve. Easy to play but hard to master. For me to master it, I've got to learn to switch arrows on the fly AND avoid enemy shots at the same time. I gave up trying to do any in-battle switching in survival.

repetitive, and only fun the 1st and 2nd time

like most defense type games similar to this, it does get boring doing the same thing over and over: run around, dodge enemies, kill stuff by shooting at things. I liked how the bow drops and the damage they do is parallel to the enemies, where the money you save would simply get you a good weapon earlier than you "should". It kinda sucked how you had to beat the game 5-6 times to get the last couple of achievements; I'd have appreciated it if that last armor would give you ALL of the armor r achievements since thats what it was: all of the armors combined. I one-time load save thing might have made this acceptable, but when you need to beat the game in 1 hour straight, 7 times, it is annoying.

also, the bosses weren't really bosses considering how easy it was to kill them and dodge their attacks. Perhaps a boss with a boomerang/homing missile attack would ramp up the difficulty in the sequel.

and a question: whats the difference between the ice and fire arrows besides prices? I found fire arrows to be useless if they did the same damage. maybe make it have a poison effect at least if you're bringing it back in the sequel.

NG medals Bug

The game is great, but the medals in NG dosen't work, the game says that I won them but they don't load in NG...
