Reviews for "Being One"

S'ok.

It was fun but pretty straight forward. Not a lot of thinking needed.

Excellent game

This was very good. Despite how most escape games are in the first person, I really liked the first-person perspective in the beginning. That along with the good graphics really helped me feel like I was in the game. The puzzles make sense and I like the mystery the sci-fi theme added, which usually works well with first-person shooters. In general, I liked how elements usually found in first-person shooters worked really well in this game, a escape adventure game no less. And the guardian mech at the end added an unexpected and fun challenge, great way to end it. I look forward to playing the sequels, good job. And I do agree with the commenter below me. It would help ( in future games, since I assume you are finished with most of the sequels to this lol) if there were captions for things that were relevant. Unless the pipes actually affect my gameplay, I don't want to see "pipes" every time I touch them. Other than that, this was an enjoyable game.

Great Game

I am not one for the escape type games. I have tried them, but generally just get frustrated or bored and stop playing. But this was rather good and I finished it. I first saw a part 3 so I searched for the 1st in the series and here I am. It has great graphics and eerie music and sound effects.

If I were to complain though... there are really only two.

First, the #2 on the key pads must be pressed from the middle down. If you press it slightly above the middle or the top of the number it will not work. I saw the code for the door and tried all three doors not knowing which one if any it would open, but I could not get the #2 to work. It just would not appear on the key pad. Then I got the code for the specimen 2 door and that worked just fine and it has a #2 in it's code. I am assuming I got that to work either by luck or by how I traced the mouse pointer over the number before it to the #2. All other numbers work just fine, it is just the #2 key that has that problem. For a while I thought it was just not letting me put the #2 key in the 3rd sequence of the numbers. Hahahaha.

Secondly, I hated when it kept telling me "pipes" or "more pipes...". Well duh. I could see they were pipes. That is like every time I scrolled over a wall it says "wall" or if I was looking at the floor "a piece of dirt..."

I was also half expecting to see my reflection on the computer screen, but alas I could not. I could not even see a shadowy figure, just the stuff behind me.

I know these games have to start some how... but why would the vat you start in have ways of letting you out? If this is a top secret project and I am sure it is due to the nature of security and such, why would there be a way to unlock it from the inside. I mean I could see if the person who left the cell phone for you had woken you up and you punched your way through the glass and unlocked it from the out side, but just unlocking from the inside just did not make sense. There should not have been an emergency open switch from the inside.

Besides that it was a great game. I loved it. Nice graphics, excellent atmosphere and it was winable... maybe a little too winable... maybe that is why the #2 key was the way it was... it was done on purpose... to slow me down... Hahahahaha. Just kidding. I will be playing the others in this series soon. Great job!

Amazing game, great story, and the difficulty is just right.
