The irrational and inexplicable sorrow I feel at seeing an image of Spike in amazing. One of my favorite characters but because they killed him in the story, I feel like someone has really died in my life. It is so strange. Obviously I know it is an old cartoon and none of them are real and I can see them again anytime I want. But maybe it is my own fear of death and the understanding of the absolute silence and nothingness of death. Knowing that an afterlife is just a lie and that I am a walking corpse already. Counting down my numbered days till the last when lights out forever vanishing into the thoughtless void into nothing.
