Reviews for "War of Cells"

One of the most entertaining games ive played in the site with huge customization.

good game engine

only problem is too few easy levels, it gets hard too soon

Awesome game

Awesome game! :D I'm like 2 hours playing this.
but u should fix the "collect 20 vitamins" glitch.I can't finish it :(

nice game

we need more like this game

Very fun.

An innovative battle system, with an interesting sorta theme- I guess you were going for a, cells are the most important part of the planet theme, and it was definitely fun with that. I'm sad you didn't roll with that more. All the level types had the same description. It would have been lovely to see some variations in texts, or news reports, to give some hint of the devastation bacteria can really reap.

The evolution system is a bit... Schizophrenic. Like the difficulty settings. You have all these cool pods and abilities, but 90% of them are useless. Weapons? Well, if you have half an hour, you might be able to get them to kill something, but otherwise no. Healing? I suppose it might give you half a second before they rip through the rest of your health. Divide? Oh, full health, new cell, chance to attack enemy at no risk to yourself. Group shock? Only way to take out tough bosses

There are times in the game when I felt the difficulty was about right. And times when I felt it was far too hard. And times when I felt it was far too easy. This is because, if you pick the wrong abilities, you're screwed if the only levels left are hard, otherwise, you can rip them to shreds.

I mean, the abilities are okish on the first couple of levels. Then what do we have. Molecular lightning? Well maybe if you drain your entire energy reserves you can kill a single foe. Injection pod? Perhaps you can mildly annoy a low level grunt with that. Razor? It looks cool I guess.

If you make a second, you should majorly, majorly prune the upgrade tree.

I just went back to one of the first levels. I managed to annoy a single diatom with a fully upgraded lightning bolt. If only this game was designed so that the average number of enemies you had to kill per cell wasn't more like 5. The razor then got me killed. Spinning it round is a great way to get yourself killed. And the enemy didn't look like they'd taken much damage, for my death.

Guardians is an savior early on. One of the few abilities that does enough damage to hold off enemies.

Acid flagellum, sonic wave. Both useless. Too slow recharge time, too little damage. Why would I waste energy on a sonic boom anyway? I've just made a slot useless for 60 seconds, so I could push back an enemy that i'll have to fight/ go by again in six seconds. Biogell or paralysis, please.

Tried kamikaze. I did approximately a third the damage I'd do just using a melee weapon, and lost a cell.

Tried injector. The extremely awkward firing method lost me almost all my health, and did no noticable damage.

Then, to save myself, I used the healing pod. Well. Another 2 seconds of life, which I could just use to protect myself. Wooow! Invisibility is also bugged, apparantly.

Last stand is incidentally an amazing ability, along with instant division, speed burst, guardians afore mentioned, and energy boost. I used a mix of that and the trusty pliers to defeat most levels. Phagocytosis is again, useless.

Anyway, yeah. The best melee ability is a level 1 one. All ranged abilities suck, except for specialist purposes.

And I finally found an unbeatable level. Hidden 1. The enemies worked out my trick, to divide continuosly and use group shock, and are effectively invulnerable to melee or ranged weapons ( and can heal?) so, no chance there.
