Not horrible but...
... there were a lot of problems with the puzzles. Starting from the end and working my way back, seeing as they are the freshest in my mind
The puzzle where I had to read the black book and call a demon, okay, I get some of it, like you wanted to call a light/weak demon or whatever so you had to rearrange the candles and all. But aside from googling what the hell those symbols were, looking at the walkthrough, or a long ass game of trial and error seeing as I would have to try all combinations of chalk colors and symbols, how am I supposed to know what they are? Throw a little picture in the book or something saying x symbol, y symbol, z symbol. She doesn't have the opportunity to research it so I shouldn't have to unless the research is in-game via a book in the bookshelf or on the usb drive or something.
Another problem, the damn safe. It was very annoying for her to put the damn stethoscope back on the table every time I got the wrong combination. Speaking of the combination, the clues were wrong. I had to look at the walkthrough to find that out. That being said, *puzzle spoiler alert* the clues were, "first is two", "2nd = 3", "third is first and fourth", "4 = twice first", and "five equals second". This indicates 2, 3, 6, 4, 3 when the actual code was 2, 3, 4, 6, 3. The 4 and 6 are reversed. This was the first time I looked at the guide because I was entering the code I was given, third is 1st(2) and (+) fourth (2x2 = 4) = 6.
Not to drive it into the ground but this puzzle brought my opinion of the game down from about a 9 of 10 to about a 6. And the fact that it insults my intelligence with such stupid clues as "it's to dark for me to see, maybe I should use a flashlight" later on caused my opinion of the game to never recover.
And the last thing I will complain about (I swear it) is the dialogue. I get it when people have typos because, unless flash has adopted a spellcheck since I last used it, it's easy to miss spelling errors, even when you proofread a couple of times. But a story is never to be told via present tense. And it is especially never to switch it up. The epilogue was horrible about it. The Dr. goes out side and she left. No... just no. The doctor went outside and then she left. It might be excusable if you are having a real time game or something and it says the doctor is leaving.
Anyway, I hope you made it this far, because aside from some minor clicking issues that weren't even worth talking about, the game looks pretty solid and the items needed for each puzzle that you come across are easy enough to find, even when you don't notice them the first time you check an area. It had a good feel to it and overall, the story and the visuals gave a nice eerie feel to it. Good job with that.
I hope that my review helps you to improve any future projects you have and that you understand the criticism is taken out of respect for good quality entertainment and the hopes that it will lead to bigger and better things in the future. Good luck in future endeavors.
