Reviews for "Generic Protagonist #1"

hmmm

it was ok. nice artwork tho.

drodZILiA responds:

It's funny, cause I thought people would hate the artwork but like the story. Huh.

i guess

i don't find him classically generic, but i suppose the whole idea was a little generic, it seems like they're have been lots of flashes and stories, about some ordinary poorly drawn characters with that big :D face going around having the world against them and then doing random things that all seem to be not so random anymore. I think this is like the 100th cartoon i've seen someone fly by some outrageous means to the moon or some planet to fight some random enemy on a planet or other worldy area, i dono, nice you put the time into it, but doesn't seem front page worthy

drodZILiA responds:

Yeah, but it got front page, so who cares.

not funny

i did not laughed even once , but i liked the animation and sounds were fine too.

drodZILiA responds:

You did not laughed? NOT EVEN ONCE?

Alright..

I would say that the humor is about right and it COULD be funny. In most of the parts you exaggerated too much. Work on your artwork, animation skills and some parts of the "script", then this would definitely get a higher score.

drodZILiA responds:

Okay.

Ok...

The protagonist wasn't that generic, he was just random. That's the opposite of generic. Plus, with a name like "Generic Protagonist #1," you'd think the focus would be on the main protagonist and not the purposely nonsensical story. I don't know if these contradictions were what you were going for or not.

Honestly, going by the name and description, I was expecting a parody of generic protagonists by having one fail at contrived actions in a not-so-contrived world. You almost had that with the Scooby Doo bit, but the protagonist pulled out a gun, which is quite the opposite of what a generic protagonist would have done. Wouldn't it have been more effective had the cupcake pulled out the gun in the chase scene? That would have illustrated even more how generic the protagonist was, and how being generic didn't work in his situation.

If you were going for a parody, then it is a failed attempt. If you were just trolling by making the opposite of whatever expectations would have been...then I guess the joke's on me. The flash still wasn't entertaining either way, which is the most important thing in the end.

drodZILiA responds:

Well, the name was just a shortened version of the full title, if you had read the description you would have known that.

And Generic Protagonist is his name, he is anything but generic, really.
