Reviews for "Ageless War"

Entertaining game with a nice idea

I really liked the game and played through it. The idea ("ageless" war) was quite good and pretty neat realised. The different Armys were really cool, and the upgrade system was thought through. I also liked the graphics, you can see that someone put some time into designing the game.

Well, I also think I played a very very similiar game before, but I won't let that influence my score.

On the other side, there is something that is definitly influencing the score:
the game balance. I noticed two major points:

Your "difficulty" ranking was 4%, 8%, 12%, .. until 80% and the survival mode should be 100% I guess. It really felt more like 1%, 2%, 3%, ... until level 16 with 16%. It then drops back to like 0% in the last 4 ninja levels, cause you only need buy one helicopter after another (the "magic" thingy :D) and the ninjas can't do shit against them, because they got no range ^^

But then come the survival mode! You have evaluated it with 100%, I would give it at least 300% in comparison to the other levels. This is not a bad thing, but the overall difficulty stays on the ground until it rockets into the sky with the surv mode.

So you should make the first levels harder, maybe you can put in some stronger enemies (like in the surv mode) and at the end of each "age" a boss-mob or something like that.

Still, overall very nice game. 8/10 and 4/5 from me.

About that

Those the title seconds as a forewarning about how long of your life with devoted to this game? Because how slow it's going seems that it very might well be an ageless war. Still great game, just a little slow

Needs improvements. Lots of them

I can see how this could be a good game, but at the moment it isn't.

For starters, there isn't a lot of interaction: you get maybe one (sensible) action per minute and rest of the time the player is just...sitting there, watching, and getting bored. You either need to add some more things for the player to do(maybe control when the troops are sent out of your area, so you could send a bunch of soldiers at once, for example) or add a speed control, so the player can AT LEAST double the game speed, preferably even triple or quadruple.

Second problem(accentuated by the first problem) is that the game starts of way too easy. I'm fine with tutorial level being practically impossible to lose, but the second or third levels didn't seem to be significantly more difficult either, as in I made and upgraded a single building and that would have been enough to beat both levels, if I hadn't wanted to speed up the victory(which also takes too much time. 100 soldiers need to reach the enemy base. With two fully upgraded buildings that takes minimum of around 4 and half minutes assuming none of your soldiers die). That could be solved either by unlocking levels faster(say, if you beat n:th level, the level n+2 is unlocked), making the early levels more difficult or simply starting with more levels unlocked(up to the point where the game starts requiring actual strategy to win). Oh, and I stopped playing at third level, when it started to look like I would have to keep getting bored for at least a few more levels before the game got more interesting(and I only tried one faction), so I can't really comment on the entire game. I really do hope that it becomes more interesting at later levels. I've no wish to wait for half an hour or longer to find out.

One more thing I'd like to mention is that I didn't really like the graphics. I usually don't care about them and I probably wouldn't even have really noticed or cared if the game itself had been more interesting, but they could use some improvement too.

I hope you try again and succeed better next time.

Great Game! Played it all the way through...

Unlike these other reviewers who just played the first game and stopped there.

It gets better guys. Much better.

Great game. Entertained me for a long time. :D

Love it.

I love the game.It just needs more units, maybe another army or two, and another/better way to make cash.
