Your a badass, until you realize you suck.
This game was awesome, from the loading visuals to the animation sequences and don't even get me started on gameplay...oh wait, I have to it's a review
Concept: No real story to uncover, because the gameplay is the story (as it should be). But you use a device called "the gauntlet" to test your reflex skills against deadly variations of square blocks. Short, sweet to the point..
Gameplay: A key element that surprisingly a lot games on NG lack. But I sure as hell can't say the same for this one. You dodge blocks (stylishly) using well timed key input, get enough combos and you can access two power ups that can be a life saver in the later levels. (although I can't say for certain cause level 4 is kicking my ass.)
Difficulty: wholly Sh*t button mashers (A.K.A: ME) beware, your timing must almost be damn near perfect as the key inputs have a cool down factor specifically when you attack and roll. Failure to time your moves correctly can result in a quick game over, Even level 1 won't feel so level one-ish if your not careful. And at level 4 the umbilical cord is cut and you must rely on memory and your own reflexes. I died before I got to the 4th block in level 4 and have a few stage power ups I have yet to encounter, trust me this game does not F***k around.
Sound: the music sounds kinda cool and appropriate for the theme of the game. The in game sound effects are engaging as well, I especially like the sense of speed givin off from the sound of the stick figures bursting animation. Makes me think of Sonic.
Overall:
The game has a learning curve in a reaction time sense, but its fun, engaging, and contains enough content that will keep me around for a good 2 months if not longer.
