Reviews for "RPG Shooter: Starwish"

Overall epic game

This game you have created is absolutely amazing. Amazing storyline, great music, and some things mentioned in the game give you meaningful things to think about. There are a few things I'd recommend working out a bit, though.

As some people have mentioned before, this game got rather repetitive .... I'd like to see new/different bosses at the end of each level. But I loved the story behind the whole game, absolutely blew me away. I would suggest listening to what some people suggest and make the dialogue more interactive or add some more features to the bridge, like instead of clicking on several bars, you could have an elevator or room to use to select different destinations within the Mothership which would also give you a chance to show new/different graphics.
Controls were pretty easy to understand, and easily accessible. The characters seemed to have been developed pretty well, my only suggestion is to perhaps make it possible to talk to all characters when inside the cafeteria instead of just 2 people. You did a pretty good job with the weapons. I say 'pretty good job', because i thought maybe you could try to balance it out? I don't know, it just seemed off throughout the game. I really like the soundtrack. It really matched with whatever was going on, and I completely enjoy listening to it.

Overall, this game was put together amazingly well. You've managed to make an amazing combination of an RPG shooter with visual novel dialogue and a touch of sim dating. One of my favorite games, for sure.

Stunning

I have had this game up for the second day in a row now, playing through. I reset to write this review (I was fighting Iblis' head). You have created a truly deep flash shooter and I admire you for it, however there were a few things I'd recommend improving on.

I could barely see anything in half your maps. Everything was just too small and blended in too well. A few times I died because I didn't even realize something was an obstacle until it was too late. My suggestion here is to possibly enlarge your whole game window/game a bit so things aren't so hard to see (especially laser fire).

As mentioned before, this game got rather repetitive .... several solutions here are making EVERY boss different, not just a different boss for each type of terrain. I'd have loved to see new/different bosses at the end of each level. I loved the story behind the whole game, but perhaps make it slightly more interactive during dialogues or add some more features to the bridge (perhaps instead of clicking on several bars you could have an elevator or room to use to select different destinations within the Mothership .... gives a chance to show new/different graphics and it adds more interaction within the game.

Characters .... you seemed to have developed them pretty well, I'd only suggest that perhaps it should be possible to talk to EVERYone when in the cafeteria instead of just 2 people, OR making it so you can (using the elevator or w/e system described above) go visit them in their quarters or workplaces for some more conversation.

Weapons ..... you had an interesting system here and I honeslty enjoyed it. I found that the most useful weapon was #3 laser but oftentimes the Wave Cannon could come in handy. I did feel that the weapons seems rather unbalanced for what they were and didn't offer as much versatility as they could have if they weren't so divided in power. (Attack powers and such were just to far from equal to make the weapons more feasibly usable in my opinion)

Ships ..... Why not integrate a system so you can upgrade your ship or build something different? I like the mods and think that is a good system to keep (though there were far to many options to try and utilize them successfully) it would be nice to have different ships to choose from or purchase for use. And it'd be awesome to at least SEE Mare's ship instead of hearing about it all the time.

I'm sure I could come up with more but you get the gist. Amazing game and congratulations on something so very well put together. I hope you win the contest if this was made for Game Jam and if not you still deserve Kudo's for a job tremendously well done.

just finished the game

AND I LOVE IT.
good job

Good but not great

I liked it a lot; played through the whole game. The gameplay was good but got repetative fast, the only change was the new obstacles (e.g., maps), but all the fights were just "more of the previous."

The story was both enjoyable and, while not entirely predictable, not entirely enticing. That is to say, it felt like there were one too many "it just works out!" - For instance, *spoiler to those who haven't completed the game* fighting Iblis at the end; after being told time and time again that Iblis cannot be defeated, the solution becomes "let's fire all we got at it!" and despite just about everything being a "no, that won't work" somehow that does work. And I'm still left wondering how a cloud/mist thing can have a physical form...

But overall, it was good. Those two things nock it down to a 4/5 and 8/10.

DLC Of All Kinds :O

10/10
5/5
Fav'd
For as long as I am able to rate this Flash, I shall.

Seriously DAMN good game. I kinda power played it the last 24 hours....And skipped most of the dialogue..... And I havent even finished it yet.....But Im gonna start a new game, And do it properly. From start to finish......Probably for the next 20 years if possible....This is a beautifuly simply amazing game.
The art is beautiful and imaginative.
The music is mesmerizing, I only wish there were more tracks=/
The shooter parts are damn fun and some are quite tedius for me. I enjoy that in a game.....Despite my frustrationXD
This game deserves teh DLC treatment and your future games need to be produced by a big coporate sponsor:3
Well, Im over exagerating a bit, But I still wish it>.<
Damn fine job^^
