A Frustrating Frigate to Operate
Frantic Frigate certainly lives up to its name in that you are a ship on the high seas which must fend off sharks and other pirate ships to collect gold and beat three bosses, all of which are coming at you at all directions and increasing speed, so this is a game that will make you fixated. But the downside for me is the experience and upgrade system. In order to beat this game, your ship MUST be top of the line, but the most you'll be able to afford on this game for the most part are a level 3 ship with three slots even if you get the maximum level for your ship, and the only upgrades you'll really need are guns, sails and your flag (not that you can't use the firerate and loot upgrades, but you can get basically the same results from a flag upgrade which is cheaper), because upgrading your ship to the maximum level will cost all your loot and that will leave you with shitty upgrades. Furthermore, the game's experience system, which gives you more starter money with each level, only levels you until AFTER you die, making the Frantic Frigate woefully repetitive. All in all, Frantic Frigate will keep you glued to the screen until, after many death, you defeat the Phantom Frigate, but after that, you'll definitely leave this game at its mooring forever.
