Reviews for "Rise"

This game becomes very tedious very fast. I mean, it has a lot of potential, but I think it would be a lot more fun it had some sort of character development and enemy scaling, maybe even options as to how to climb the tower (alternate paths with brief descriptions given to the player as to how they look or feel to the character or something along those lines). More variation with the enemies would be nice too. However, I only made it about half way before I quit so I don't know, maybe it gets better later? I really doubt it though, I'm thinking that's probably the trend through the whole tower. Probably a unique boss at the end, but with no character development I can't imagine he would be very hard or satisfying. I know this seems like a really negative critique, but that's only because I think the game has a lot of potential. There were a lot of good aspects, but almost all of them feel like they have unrealized potential. The music was alright, but the artwork was just great. I think that's what made the rest of the game feel so disappointing to me. The artwork demands a more fully realized game.

Great game. Won 11 times with all the characters, though it tends to have some difficulty with the veteran.

Its a fun game with nice graphics, but i completed it in 15 min, without dying and killing the boss in one strike....

Beat it with Paladin, Monk and Warrior so far, really great game but has some balance issues.

The classes with lower health are at an extreme disadvantage. They generally don't do any extra damage over the other classes, but have much less survivability, and also use up a lot more money on potions that can't be spent on stat upgrades.

Thief, Priest and Sorceress are good examples (Ones I've tried so far). There are a lot of enemies that can practically one shot you unless you're constantly finding upgrades/money/The Veteran.

And to the Veteran, I think I've gotten up to level 200ish without finding him some runs, he really needs to have some constant locations (Every 75-100 floors or something) to avoid becoming stuck.

I beat it on my first playthrough as a Monk. I have to say the final boss was a let down. I speced quite a bit into DEX, then if I combined that with just dodging, he could not hit me at all. I bombed him, used dodge, attack until it wore off, then put dodge back on. I repeated this until he died.
