Reviews for "'Chicken Castle'"

This was amazing! I loved everything about it. Anyone can see that you really had to step out of your comfort zone to achieve StejkRobot's style. The only thing i think bothered me a little was the sound mixing. Maybe it's just me, but I noticed that the volume went way up when the action started. It makes sense that it would increase when the big moment hits, but I think it went a tad overboard. It was a bit distracting, but not enough to stop me from enjoying the film. You did a great job. I give you the best of luck on winning the competition. And you speak spanish, right? I'm just going to say, me gusto un buen! Yo creo que puedo hablar por mucha gente aquĆ cuando digo que tu eres uno de los mejores animadores en Newgrounds.

Butzbo responds:

Hahah, I must say it was a really though challenge, and I'm glad it payed off on the animation aspects despite ending up in second place.
On the sound aspects, I normally work on the sound mixing myself, in between the process of finishing the animation, so I normally stop when I'm running out of time or when there's a much bigger priority on other details.
De todos modos, debo decir que fue genial llegar hasta este punto del torneo, muchas gracias por los comentarios!

Great animation! Trying to mimic StejkRobot's style is a tremendously difficult task, but I do believe you have a really nice animation on your hands. I would have liked to see more small/subtle movements in the character animation, but that's me being nit-picky. Best of luck!!!!

Butzbo responds:

This turned out to be the thoughest round ever, hahah! I still agree that there's a lot of tweaking to do in the animation, I actually hope to take the time fix some bits.
Thanks a lot CroMagg!

Nice big animation here. Very well-done, this really looks top-notch. I think it was a little too long/slow, or perhaps lacked something immediately gripping to keep the viewer's interest. For instance, the pause before the robot crumples is a little excessive. Other than that really great job.

Room for improvement...
- Needs more short 3-4 frame loops to show a dynamic environment
- Use less symmetry
- Color outside the lines a little more, reducing brush smoothing isn't enough to imitate your opponent's style

Butzbo responds:

Yeah I agree with plenty of things; although because of deadlines there's always tons of room for improvement; I'm still glad this got to a higher level of production.

Thanks for dropping by!

Yay

The style and Art of this was awesome! :] I thought it was original but the shots could have used a little more thought and the animation was a little iffy in places, but overall it was great!
