Reviews for "Space Survival Escape 4"

Love these games! Just played through the series up to this game, and I'm having a lot of fun :D

selfdefiant responds:

Thanks! Glad you like them.

the game is pretty good but my main complaint is the octopus door. I know the spots are buttons but is there any specific pattern to push them in? the video walk through isn't that helpful. That door gets a bit frustrating cus I watched that part in the video 8 times and I still can't it to open

selfdefiant responds:

Yeah, 1,2,3,4,5 Thanks!

I'm really impressed with the growth you're showing in this style of point-and-click. As I've said, your photo-real games are pretty, but it seems like with your newest projects, you let your imagination take over a little more, and in this series we're seeing a progressive output of some really surreal and imaginative stuff. This one seemed to add a little mysticism into the science-fiction genre with all the stuff in the castle. This is especially cool considering that the story really began on an abandoned ocean liner.

I also like how you aren't re-explaining everything. When we learn that we need red crispinite in this game, those of us who have played the entire series know how to go about finding it. Some might think it's not too user-friendly that you don't teach the player how to do that in this part, but come on... it's part 4. Anyone who's really interest should start at the beginning or the adventure won't make sense anyway.

The puzzles could still be a little harder, but I'm wary of saying that since the solar panel in Part 2 drove me crazy. But, for example, one the fireplace clue, try making the pattern a little more complicated.

MILD SPOILER:

The only suggestion I have for this part: on the "octopus door," and puzzles like it, try to make it more obvious that those dots are buttons, or otherwise should be touched. I walked around forever in search of clues before I realized that those were all hot-spots.

selfdefiant responds:

Thanks! I am figuring out how to be more creative with these. They are more fun to create than the photo games. It takes more thought and creativity to make something like this. I think that a lot of people are liking them as well. They are a little short but with all 5 they feel like a whole game.

I honestly don't get that first door puzzle that you have to do with the huttons on them. I have no idea how to pass them and the video walkthrough isn't any help considering i've watched and rewatched the same part over 4 times and couldn't get it to open

selfdefiant responds:

Thanks! They are buttons, I should have made it more clear. :)

This was a bit strange, but entertaining.

MEDALS! Woohoo!

Thanks!
