Reviews for "Up in the Sky"

A Lil button slow passed for my liking. But clearly there's been some effort put into this.you had a very well timed walk cycle in there, and your drawing aesthetics altho basic were usually pleasing. For entertainment value I found it to be a bit boring. Make things more exciting and snappier next time, although an entire different script would be needed to do so. But nice work on the character animation here. Don't be afraid to push things further than you feel comfortable when drawing, stay loose baby!

TheSilleGuy responds:

Thank you! Yeah, if I had more time I would've definitely changed some of those things, but I will learn until next time! Thanks for the critique! :)

shit man...that really sad:(

Very beautifully made, I really love the whole atmosphere of this short. You really managed to create an elaborate animation, very smooth and well drawn. I just feel the story could have used some more thought (it bothered me a little, that he didn't just tie the ballon to the cross?).
however, for the short time you had it's really amazing!

TheSilleGuy responds:

I actually thought about him tieing the balloon to the cross but I only ended up thinking of that AFTER I had animated him putting the stick in the ground and I simply didn't have time to change it. Thanks for the critique! :)

i shed a tear a the end. absolutely beautiful.

Really love how the characters' eyes tell the emotional content of what is going on. Such simple, non-moving drawings, yet I'm drawn in without all the fireworks.

Wondering what your aspect ratio is? 2:35? I don't usually see something this wide.

Story-wise, the only disappointing thing is that it seemed that the question of whether they (or he) got the monster should be resolved.

Music gets a little old and probably should have some contrast.

I'd also like to see greater contrast in the animation to emphasize each scenes' meaning.

Very nice work!

TheSilleGuy responds:

Thank you! The aspect ratio is 2560x1080. Also, yeah, I could have done a bit better but it was mostly due to time restraint that I couldn't. But still, thank you! :)
