Reviews for "Elevator"

very good game, still dont understand why people think that your jump height being dependent on your speed is bad thought it was a cool mechanic that definitely was fun to get used to.

jumping is too inconsistant, the game is hard enough without having to fight the controls. Otherwise completely love it.

A well made game, with good atmosphere and good ideas. The controls need some work, but otherwise good job.

Pretty fun game, always nice to find this games you can play with one hand. and other than a learning curve detail, (which I'll mention below) the progression was well executed, and I like how fast its meant to be played.

Since it's a review, I found the first 'tutorial levels' to be a bit over-loaded; once you're done with the learning levels, it felt like quite a lot of things were not present at all until much further, which made me wish those elements were actually introduced when the real stages were beginning to use them.
Other issue which comes to mind are the movement physics, they followed some unusual rules like the fact that you 'bounce' off walls, and also you slow down when you are jumping right next to them.

Aside from the engaging "twisted-yet-controlled" atmosphere, It had some cool mechanics, with the height-defined platforms being my favourite.

This game is:
25% agility
25% extremely tricky platforming mechanics
25% bouncy walls working against you and
25% lag

It might be a problem with my computer, or it might be because of the graphics effects, but the lag prevented me from beating level 11, because the two blocks from the roof hit my character in the head before it can fall all the way to below the four appearing blocks, and I trust that's because of the lag and not failure of level design because some reviewers here managed to beat the game through. I can even make it to the bottom in time sometimes but then the falling blocks just glitch through the newly appeared shelter. I concur with other reviewers in saying that there should be an option to toggle the really fast visual effects off, just to make sure as for what comes to me in particular.

I definitely felt like I was learning how to better and better control the character all over the course of the selection of levels, but I also felt like half of the times I died were because of lag. For sure I feel like I could be shifting the blame of a problem that could very well be my fault, but level 11 is absolutely unbeatable even after I had beaten all the levels before it with moderate to disruptive lag.

Something that I differ on with other reviewers is about that I actually think the platforming mechanics add to the game. They're something you have to figure out with trial and error, and that actually kept me hooked in addition to the intriguing intro and aesthetic that make you curious as to what they could ever hint of for later on.

You get four stars!
