Reviews for "Dust Bunnies In Space"

Graphics are good, cartoon fashion is good. As a game being brought into the Construct 3 Jam, and many of these are just like clones of stuff already with barely and thought into them. However, this one stands out a bit from the average games like 3 heroes and swap positions stuff. The thing is, shouldn't there be optionally a keyboard input for movement? That would make it optionally easier to control and strafe. Looks so far could be a decent game but somehow why am I invincible from the normal enemies? Is that intended?

Piggybank12 responds:

Hey, thanks for the feedback! Great to see you're liking the graphics and concept!

Giving keyboard movement to the player is something I wanted to get around to putting in, but I ran out of time. Maybe using the WASD keys to move might work as an alternative? At the very least, I was able to put in an option to press the space bar to jump, which helps for anyone that maybe has a broken middle mouse button or just wants to use the keyboard a little bit.

Bunnies can't hurt you in Normal mode, which means the only thing you gotta worry about is clearing them out before time runs out. They're made of dust after all, so they don't do any real harm to you. Hard mode, on the other hand, lights the bunnies on fire, which means if you touch them you die instantly and the level resets. And you still have the clock to worry about, so you can't mess around either.

In other words, if you're looking for a challenge and want the enemies to hurt, give Hard mode a try! Hope that helps! :)

Holy damn... probably one of the most epic games I've played in a while...
This game is really sick! The soundtracks are really epic and intense, all the visuals with all those vivid colors and the level design... just amazing!
The gameplay was also pretty cool since you sometimes had to switch the weapons and use them in certain ways to advance through the level. I also liked the AI hat guided you troughout the level and explained the tutorial to you.
I can't find any big downsides to this game, it's just perfect. Well, honestly, I had some pretty intense lag while playing in and without fullscreen mode, but that's OK for games of such greatness.
So, in other words, this is a really crazy and colorful game with sexy bunnies! ;D

You did an amazing job on this, for me, this is the absolute jam winner so far, but we'll see what awesome games we'll get later on :^)

Piggybank12 responds:

Woah, thank you for the compliments! Glad to see the visuals, music and the game itself is gellin' with you!

I have noticed the game can lag on some machines. From what I can tell, the reasons seems to be down to me not optimizing the graphics enough/using too many objects (I tried aiming for 1080p, so the higher-res graphics might be a bit overboard for something running in a web browser, lol), me using too many WebGL effects, whatever web browser happens to be used to play the game and the amount of memory it has, the machine the game is running on, and Construct 3 itself still being in beta and having quirks to work out as of this writing. In other words, lots of things that all add up to lag, and that's no good.

I want to put a downloadable version up soon, as the game seems to run at a much more stable framerate when it runs with the extra amount of memory NW.js gives it, so hopefully I can get that uploaded soon! Not the best solution to the problem, but if I do more web browser games in the future, making sure things run smooth is something I'll definitely try to be aware of going forward.

Anyway, thanks again for the review!
