Reviews for "3Pants"

★ Pretty amazed this doesn't have any reviews left so let me be the first ( or er, ONE OF the first maybe at the time of the submission). First off, the music is amazing, big shout out to Audioautix and Huma Huma for the funky flows. And shout out to YOU for featuring them in such a great game! Speaking of game i should really get to review the actual product. This is a game i would play on my phone or tablet. It's simple and addicting with a level of challenge perfect for veteran and newbie players alike. I'm loving the pixel art style and the game mechanics, they're both something I haven't seen in this Jam [or website] yet. It feels very fresh.

Alssoooo let me finish this off and give credit where its due by saying its wonderful you managed to create such a masterpiece in the small window of time newgrounds gave you. Hope you see you on the front page ! ♡

YellowB responds:

OMG - thank you for the kind words! I had so little time to make it literally because of work stuff, this is amazing :D (out of the two weeks i just spent part of the last week with crazy crunch during the weekend)

Was simple and fun. Took only a few seconds to figure out what to do. I found that in the "protect the pants" level enemies could spawn either directly on or next to the pants, making for an instant loss. Other than that, not bad at all. I could easily see it expanded with multi-step objectives, null spaces you can't just jump through (like walls), floor hazards, etc.

YellowB responds:

Thanks, landing on pants should be fixed in the last version. I plan on expanding the game with traps bombs and more enemies and quest modes :D

This was a pretty fun mechanic! I think one small thing that would make it better is if the player was a different color than the enemies. The fact that the player teleports makes your eye jump to see where you end up, and if you teleport right next to an enemy it can be frustrating when you make a mistake because you thought you were the other sprite.

This was really satisfying and controlled nicely. The structure was sort of weird though. I'm not sure if it was a bug or a design choice, but I didn't have to do anything to get the first tree his pants. I just clicked on him and he had pants. It made the rest of the game a bit strange when I had to actually complete levels to get pants.
After I got all the trees their pants, I clicked on the last tree again and the challenge was (I think) to kill 10 enemies, the icon for which was a yellow square. I've definitely killed more than 10 and nothing happened. It might have said 100 and i was reading too fast, but the enemies are appearing really sparsely and it would take forever to kill that many.
I'm going to assume most of these things are bugs and I just happened to run into all of them.
In terms of gameplay, its really fast and fun! The only feedback I have there is that it would be nice if there was more of an indication that you've been hurt, since the little "x"ed out heart is the same size as all of the other floaty effects that happen when you successfully kill an enemy. It's also a bit unsatisfying that dashing through coins doesn't pick them up, though I understand the reasoning there.
Really impressed with your game and it was a lot of fun!

YellowB responds:

Thanks for the feedback! I think I fixed most of the stuff you mentioned in the latest version :) - also thanks for pointing out the ending I tottaly forgot about it - but now, thanks to you there is a endless mode :D after the game is complete - some highscores would be nice maybe i can add those after the jam is done. Thanks for playing!

"Landing on enemy will kill him and lose you a heart" - the kill part doesn't work.

It was fun game but on design level at moments flawed. Enemy can spawn in the corner what makes them unkillable. In missions where the task isn't to collect gold gems are useless. Some restriction of dashing frequence could have been implemented. Nevertheless the game was fun. Really liked the "protect your pants" mission concept.

YellowB responds:

Thanks for the feedback! Landing on a enemy does kill them so maybe you found some bug because i wasn't able to reproduce it not working. The use for gold is that you get hp back every 100gold. I was planning on doing more with it but ran out of time. Thanks for playing!
