This is a really good platformer. It took me a while before I figured out the control key (E) to open the portals (You might want to put the controls in-game, like in many other platform games).
The crouching issue was already mentioned below by Cookiecrumbled. I'm divided about the speed (You could ramp it up, but a lower speed seems fitting here). The atmospheric music and the animation is great.

With the portal opening key e, its supposed to be a bit of a secret. There is a stone plate near the portal with the letter e on it (it even blinks red when you wait a few seconds in front of it so you get the hint) but seeing from your complaint its might still not be clear enough. a few people seemed to have gotten it without problem so I'm divided if i want to make it easier to get.
I didn't want to create a ingame menu to show controls etc as it could be abused as a pause function to make the bullet hell passages more easy (still not set in stone tho, could make game keep running in bg)
thanks for the feedback on the atmosphere and the animation. I actually expected more reviews with critique about the art and animation, as this community is focused on animation as i understand and not so much on gamedesign. Although i do appreciate critique on that too.

Interesting Game, I Love The Minimal Instructions Given. The "Aha!" Moment When You Figure Out How To Damage The Boss, Great.
I enjoyed my time playing. Had a few issues while playing though. First when you duck under something and let go of the down key it would just sorta teleport me out of there, didn't have much of an problem with it, but it had the possibility of kicking you off ledges in some areas. This one is a bit of a game breaker, but it wouldn't let me load any of the levels or continue, it would just boot me back to the title screen. I really liked the boss of level 5 (even though I died) , Couldn't get to the end of the game though because I didn't feel like going through the whole game again just to die and go through a third time just because of a broken load option. Overall good job, next time add a bit of a story instead of us just running around collecting demon teeth for no reason.

found the reason for the loading bug and already updated the game with fixes for that issue.
I have some story hints in the world but i still understand how you felt underwhelmed by the story, will keep that in mind.

yea i see you can get the 6 missing letters just by thinking about it. but that's still some work to do so I think its cool that its possible this way. omg I LOVe this style of art! but the game rebooted on me and sent me back to the beginning after less than a minute of gameplay, in the FIRST AREA. wtf? ;<
