Reviews for "RPG Shooter: Starwish"

10 STARS

is a realli good game, this game is amazing and habe all my respect XD

I came for 12 hours straight. (Spoilers)

I loved everything about this game. EVERYTHING.

The level system was standard, but brilliantly done nonetheless.
The inclusion of powers/abilities was excellent. LOVED getting those.

The worlds were well made, the enemies were diverse, and battle was always interesting, even when repeated.
The maze levels were fascinating to work through, especially while aiming for
survival.

The bosses, though repeated throughout the game, were fresh and fun challenges each time
Iblis is officially one of the hardest final bosses I have ever defeated. I put Desire
Incarnate up there with... Geez, I don't even know. Ibby is top of his class, it seems.

The weapons you put in the game were beautiful and deliciously diverse.
The Wave Cannon and Chain Beam Thingy were by far my favorites; its nice to hold
a button, navigate, and auto-rape everything in my path.

The character development provided perfect plot stimuli.
Shocking revelations about everyone provided twists that would make Shyamalan
jizz his fuckin' pants. I did actually expect Mare to be a woman though; the overly
deep voice and Samus helmet gave that away, if that makes any sense.

The storyline was eventful and well driven.
"Hi, we're the feds and we will kill you"
"OH NO DUN DO THAT"
"Too late"
...
"Ohaithar, convenient mechanic; come to space with me?"
"K. Let's go shopping first!"
"UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGH... Hokai."
...
"A stone you say?
"Yeah, Its magic."
"ORLY?"
"YARLY!"
...
"I HAVE AWESOME FACIAL HAIR."
...
"OH NO THE OTHER SHIP IS HERE"
"I'm psychic; let's fuck up their shield"
"K."
...
"OHNO, YOUR OWN MANS ARE ATTACKING YOU"
"Oh well. Drink?"
"Sure."
...
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"
"Too late; we gots to run."
".... K."
...
(It seems like I'm mocking; I'm merely showing how much better you did than I ever
could have. IT WAS AMAZING.)

The romance subplots made me actually feel emotions for the girls.
I wanted to cry when Ginny died, as I wanted her from the beginning; shot for
Dedai instead, once Djinni was... unexisted? Though Tessa was beautiful and
attractive (not being used as a homonym to beautiful), I wanted Dead to see again.

Had two bugs that come to mind; I for whatever reason froze twice in the first battle
with the Firebolt, and I occasionally got stuck in or passed through walls while
flying, BUT FUCK IT. Glitches are negligible when considering the mass of art and
wonder that is the rest of the game.

Now, because my sleep deprivation makes my ability to write go to shit, I will stop at this:
CONGRATULATIONS ON BEING SUPERBLY EXCELLENT AT THIS WHOLE FLASH THING.
I LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING MORE FROM YOU.

Amazing

This game is incredibly well developed. The characters, storyline, play, feel, everything.

Some of it was campy, but obligatory campiness is obligatory. The play was a bit on the easy side until the final stage, when it just kinda jumped up a notch.

And there's tons of replay value in this.

Well done.

Excellent Game!

Note that I write this after playing normal mode, and will be playing hard mode promptly after to find the extra goodies, and hopefully the secret ending.

First and foremost, I felt really in tune with the characters and the storyline had me hooked right from the beginning. Its not to hard imagining this becoming an anime at any time due to the nicely written storyline either.
The characters for the most part were well developed, as was the plot which drove the storyline. Music absolutely complimented the entire game, and weapon balancing for the most part was absolutely perfect.

I only had 3 things that really affected the general experience for me though. First, the backgrounds were well...repetitive to say the least, throughout all three levels. Just a different shading of color didn't suffice to add to the experience.

Fighting progressively increasing numbers of enemies is all fine, but increasingly large numbers of similar looking enemies through three levels got pretty boring. It got pretty hectic at times with all the bullets everywhere though which helped take my mind of that for the most part.

Final problem is that while adding obstacles and such is a great thing, the backgrounds did not do them justice for the most part, and some of them looked really out of place, like the snail shells in the forest on the third levels forest zone.
Not to mention while this didn't happen often and had little to no real affect on game-play in general, I would die for absolutely no apparent reason when I played on certain levels with mazes involved. This primarily happened when skimming the top or bottom edge of the screen with objects nearby but not touching.

Things that would add to the experience: Power-ups that didn't phase through walls out of your grasp. One or two more power-ups, like a health restoration power up of +10% restored on a very low chance of drop or something of the like. And finally, something to upgrade fire rate of both secondary and primary weapons. I was a little confused when agility didn't do that as it broke with the norms of most games I play.

I was a bit sad to see Ginny die, and I hope that her not dying or something of the like has something to do with the secret ending. But other then that, besides what was mentioned above, this is an excellent game deserving of a 10/10 rating. Hope to see more from you soon.

Touching

I don't know where to start, this game has a very very good story. Everything fits together so beautifully. The things I like most is are quotes and life lessons from the story. Playing this for 2 days, just wonder what will happen next.
