Reviews for "Number Ninjas"

Fun.

I found a glitch that might be intensional. On level 9 or 10 I ended up adding the 7... The 7 of which was already gone?

not too shabby

needs some work tho.. no sound option.. well thought out :)

Okay, but...

On level 5:
2 = 4 - 3 * 8 - 6
this actually equals -26, not 2 (Order of operations)

But nicely done game. Little glitchy at some spots.

Amazing

This game is one of my favorite games on the Internet. I love math and games of this style, and this one held me for more than an hour. I don't understand why people can play this game well and not be smart enough to realize that, in a game such as this one, it would be illogical to have double digits or negative numbers. That's why none of the opponents are those types of integers. The same follows for decimals. It seems very obvious to me.

Anyway, beautiful game. If you can make a sequel, I would play it as soon as I saw it.

Great idea, shane about the implementation

I had so much fun playing this game, and I'm usually terrible at maths. Finding the solution to the equation first, then moving around to try and actually make it happen, added a nice level of satisfaction that I haven't felt for some time.

The graphics are neat and well done, the story fairly interesting (although more meat could have been added) and the overall idea is really, really clever. It's certainly something I haven't seen before and I really liked it.

The problems came, like many have said, from the controls. You have a great game here, but having your ninja character clumsily fall off treadmills and edges really spoils it somewhat. The collision detection really hadn't been looked at as much as it should. On the controls, I don't see a problem with pressing a button to zoom in and out, but either make it stick so I don't have to hold it down all the time, or let us move while zoomed out - preferably both. I spent ages on each level just waiting for the right timing with the key pressed, which wasn't fun.

I'd also argue that you didn't mention about eliminating all enemies in a map - it's possible on some levels to breeze past a few with the equation completed, but it doesn't let you unless all the baddies are gone.

What really spoilt it for me, and the reason I docked you another point, was that having played for an hour, I came across a bug on Level 15. Right now my character is still there, sitting on a platform at the end of the level, unable to continue because he can't fall down far enough to trigger the end of the level. This is really poor, and I was looking forward to the ending.

Still, though, I would like to congratulate you for making a (somewhat) polished game that held my attention for so long, it's rare I spend so long doing equations. A sequel would be great with a little more focus on the controls.
