Reviews for "Nanobeast"

Legendary piece of shit

Level 1 fucking spoils you, making you think that the innovative upgrade system is some sort of ally. It only serves as a constant mocking force, ridiculing from it's throne in the upper clouds of the screen as one desperately scrounges for any and all upgrade points the game will allow. One thinks at first; "I say, at this rate, I'll be able to keep up with the ever improving enemies, making for a ruddy good conflict. Bully!". The game then takes savage delight in destroying that fantasy, by hoarding any and all upgrade points. Where one once saw delightful green diamonds lays only ruination, death, and countless missle upgrades that don't seem to stack or run out or do /anything/ aside from occasionally fire in twin diagonal lines as a shitstorm of enemies and fire rains down from the vengeful heavens, seemingly in order to punish you for your hubris. You dare thought you could ascend to such staggering heights? Begone! This is no place for the likes of thee, and I'll make damned sure no mere mortal does so, /by not giving them any fucking upgrades/".

In short, Nanobeast is a fantastic way to reaffirm anyone's belief in the Devil, and works as a wonderful ward against joy.

Is that...

Linkin Park playing in the background right at the very beginning? Anyway, great game!

cool.

POO! im a baby!

Step by step time review

First impressions: Good array of songs, liking it so far, but the whole preloader taking five minutes instead of ten seconds is kind of getting to me. To be honest, the thing that made me click on this game was the "intuitive upgrades" promised. IF THERE ARE NO INTUITIVE UPGRADES EXPECT SCORE TO BE DASH FOR THAT EXACT REASON!

Starting up game: Nice song so far, title screen looks promising. Opening cut scene is completely unnecessary...

Five minutes in: Okay, LOVING the upgrade system so far, but I kind of wish it stacked, so that if you missed something you wanted you could go back when you got more power orbs and upgrade two at a time of what you wanted. I'm worrying that this will get repetitive though.

Ten minutes in: Well, wish I knew w was bomb. It IS starting to get repetitive but has an addicting charm too.

An hour in: I'd say its safe to review the entire game by now. Thank God for you changing the gameplay from chapter to chapter. If all six were like chapter 1 I might've gone insane. The upgrade system IS nice. I did enjoy the music. Graphics were retro which was a nice touch. The preloader glitch is weird and did put me off a bit, but I won't take points off for that. Overall it was a well put together game...

In fact, besides the preloader I can't think of anything wrong with it. Give me a minute or two...

...

Hmm, no, all the flaws I have are so minor they're not even worth addressing. What the hell, take my 10/10.

I saw it, you almost gave me a 9 there :)

Clone.

Gradius Clone. Salamander Clone. Lifeforce Clone. Phalanx Clone. Mappy Clone. R-Type Clone. with just a bit of Doujin shooter tossed in.
Does it really matter what game it copied off of when in the end everything was based off of something else?

I love side scrolling shooter games and this one is no different. As for side scrolling FLASH based shooter games, this one stands out and has gotten alot of my attention lately. Keep up the great work.

RatherRandomReality responds:

It may sound weird, but I have never played any of the games you mention. Not even one of them. Will have to check them out though, thanks for the list.
