Reviews for "Escape from the VBP"

Very cool! Love the cool graphics, and gameplay aswell as control's we're very nice. Only problem is, I don't know if the game is randomly generated but sometime's objects go through where gold should be, I don't know if its a flaw but it was just wierd. Anyway, good game!

meinlogin responds:

Hey, thanks! You are totally correct: levels are generated automatically, and if a coin appears in the wall, it's self-destroyed:). It's possible to leave them there, but it just doesn't look very good visually, so I remove them.

Simple concept, well executed!
attractive graphics, addicting factors, all its missing is some more work on game design.

Consider having an instructions tab on the menu, even after a pop up explains.

I recommend you to work on either one of these 3 recommendations concerning pop ups:

1- Try to have the pop ups "pop" in the corner rather in the middle of the screen, they stay too long, e.g: some people have bought a gun ages ago and yet the pop up is still covering the screen when already in game.
2- Give the player the ability to be able to click it away, some just want to dive in.
3- Simplify the words in the pop ups, just as the simplicity of the game.

A replay button after death is a must!
its a little irritating how a player must go back to the menu to play again.

well done, hopefully you'll score better game after game.
good luck on the next one!

Than you for the feedback. About the Try again button: I thought that it's really important to make players go into the Shop. And with the possibility of just replaying, someone might have click it and miss it.

This really deserves 5 stars. the balancing concept is great, the .5 off is nit picking. As an old gamer it's the little things in games that make it enjoyable to me. A lot of side scrolling shooters try a maze type approach and usually, when trying to make it difficult, trap players in positions that make the difficulty feel unfair. the maze structure felt nice and didn't feel like it left the player in uncompromising positions. even without bullets the layout felt nice,

The bullets are a nice add-on, I know I've played side scrollers where you can destroy the layout, but not one that attempted to make it a strategy. I actually felt the the ammo packs should have been a little bit more scarce just to force the player to conserve a bit more and apply a little bit more pressure. the layout is also done well here because your never left feeling like you HAVE to save bullets for certain areas. I love that, sometimes I feel in games where they purposely force players to use abilities just to make them appear necessary.

I can't really comment too much on the controls, I'm on a LCD TV atm and have some input lag so i actually had to look past the movement controls, I know I could have controlled the craft a bit better if on an actual monitor.

the teleport feature is very nice, I feel like it could have been used more effectively though. It might be perfectly fine, but i just felt as though it could be upgraded too quickly.

otherwise, great concept, wish it was tweeked a bit more for strategy with the ammo and layout. the other aircrafts never really did hit me outside of one or two incidents.

My "monitor" may be acting up, but one thing i would love to see in some of these shooters is a border around the game to allow for missclicks and not just a pause feature. especially with the small size of the game I don't think it intrudes on anything.

otherwise, I really liked it. with the right story and giving the upgrades a little more "umph"(comparitve to gold acquired and how much each upgrade increases)you could create a very addictive game.

like i said, just nit picking. it's a good game as is and really liked it.

meinlogin responds:

Thank you! Yes, I also thought about makins ammo scarce, but even now lots of people miss the powerful gun with lots of bullets:).

Great game and awsome musicyou should put this for download

meinlogin responds:

Hey, thanks! I will tell your words to composer:).

laaggg... mmm no boss?

meinlogin responds:

Yes, sorry. No boss:(.
