Reviews for "Rise"

It's an interesting concept, but I feel like sometimes the odds are stacked too much against weak characters. The chances of finding a shop/trainer should be higher as a weaker character. It was literally impossible for me to beat the CEO as the priest. I encountered the trainer maybe three times and barely had any statistical improvement from floor 1. Interesting, but it can be unnecessarily difficult at times.

Hyptosis responds:

Yeah, it can be tough finding a balanc ein a game like this too. It takes a LOT of playtesting and that is hard to go through for a small flash game. Thanks for your feedback! I'll try to do better next time.

Monotonous is the best way to describe this game. The story and art must have been written by two different people, on different sides of the planet, without sharing a similar language and without knowing what the other was working on. My Ranger is holding a gun, but the attacks reference bows. I couldn't do 300 levels.

I love your games. But this game was kind of annoying. Especially with the dexterity. With the Paladin, I missed more attacks than I actually hit. More enemies would also be nice

i love you hyptosis!

It's a game that makes you know you're doing the same thing over and over. It's just bland. That's the only way I can put it. There's no thrill, no imagination, no sense of accomplishment. You fight the same three or four enemies for fifty floors it seems, and then you get a new, tougher set of enemies. This is where a sense of accomplishment should come in, you've made it to a new level. But you're stuck with the same gear, the same stats. You're no better than where you were last level, and that's the key problem. Even if you were to forget about improved gear, improved stats should be regular. If I had difficulty fighting the lower enemies, how can I progress on stronger enemies? I'm slaughtered before I get a chance because the only way I can make my self better is by hoping and praying that I randomly get the veteran and I have the money to upgrade the stats that will make a difference. This is one change that could have made a significant difference in the game.
