Reviews for "Rise"

The art, as usual, is really great, but the gameplay on this one got tired for me quite quickly. There wasn't enough difference in the experiences you get as the different kinds of characters - and at times it got really, really frustrating waiting for the stats guy to turn up so you could actually get stronger. I also like a good bit of story in my RPG and this was more focused on action, so perhaps just not my kind of game.

The game is just....cool! It's a lot of fun, everyone can get into it, and it leaves a lasting impression. Sheer style of design won me, here. Can be beaten in about 10-15 minutes, and still feels meaty.

Okay...well, it plays like a card game more than anything. I enjoyed it, although there was some tedium found in a lack of great difficulty scaling. The game was easy enough, but also really fun.

I don't think I would go back to replay it again with a different class, and I suspect that a few folks will be disappointed that this isn't an Action game. However, this is a game for everyone. Everyone can get it, everyone can beat it. I love that! The variety of playable characters means you can find one you like.

There were small things here or there, I would have really liked to see more enemies. I did not understand why there were so few (6?), while there were nearly four times as many playable characters.

The storyline was sort of trite...it's conclusion felt somewhat rushed. Many times I found myself wishing that more complex algorithms were written for the randomized math. It's not balanced.

Nearly half of my tower, if not most, was consumed by the shop-keeper, who was usually selling things I couldn't afford. The Veteran I ran into twice in a row....and the shop-keep several times. With 300 floors, I never found myself with more than 40 gold.

i'm sort of intimidated doing this style of review for these Authors, but it's a full-featured game, so I'll have to.

out of 10....

gfx - 8 (great style, original designs)
sfx - 9 (awesome tracks, good sfx)
design - 7.5 (a few strange choices)
gameplay - 7.0 (inconsistent, but fun)

overall, this is a great game that hits a lot of good points. it has its' flaws, but I think a sequel would be great. More interactivity, better math, and a greater diversity in the design would be great. Gameplay is simple, and doesn't need to be elaborated on...really this game just needs tighter math, more enemies, and a stronger ending.

Other than, a great 15 minutes of fun!

Hyptosis, I usually love your games. the art and story usually complement eachother very well. The art was great but the gameplay was tedious. Often it generated a shop floor 5 times in a row selling the same thing. The enemies never really get harder nor do they drop more gold. There was basically no story compared to your other games.

Not bad!!!! you did some good job!!! but no so good!!! if you added some kind of charecter creator or somthn that would be great!!! And music...not bad but kinda boring!!! if you added more EPIC musc it could be better!!! So i give it a 4 stars!!! its good!! and got good idie!!! Well done guys!!!

Not bad at all, just very random sometimes. There should be more opportunity to improve skills. Also it ia rather frustrating, when you have few coins and the store keeps popping up. The store should rather come at each 25th stage or so with a greater variety of goods.

Hyptosis responds:

Yeah, I thought about having the stores pop up every ten floors or something, hmrmm, I can always change it.
