Reviews for "Leap Jet Bear"

Good

I want to like this game but it's almost a "rage game" (ie not programmed properly). If the difficulty was tweaked, I'd highly recommend it. I'm especially worried due to the "No Safety Net" badge's description. It may be a rage game after all.

One thing I'd change immediately (besides the lag) is to have checkpoints save your progress with each visit. Deviating to get gems seems pointless as one slip up means having to get them over and over and over again. I think the jetpack could last a little longer but I think it's fair enough for MOST levels.

The controls are pretty tight, apart from the infrequent lag I experience - which in this game is catastrophic. The art work is superb and the music mostly pleasant (though I played it muted).

I would happily pay money for the tweaked version but as is, it's only recommended to "hardcore" platformer fans of which I am not.

MadNukin responds:

Fair enough, the game is not for everyone.
Thank you for the honest review.

Challanging and nice game. It is now one of my favorites.

Fairly difficult game that overall felt fair. The hitbox on the spikes could use a tiny bit of tweaking but other than that the controls are responsive and the challenges are more or less on you rather than some terrible rng or praying the controls actually work. I enjoyed the fact that the crystals were of a non-linear difficulty. Level 3 actually threw me for a loop because it requires you to know that you can jump after a dash as long as you have not used your jump previously.

Good job to the creator, it's actually extremely difficult to create a platformer with responsive controls without having to go "I wanna be the guy" troll level for difficulty level... although the surprise spikes could qualify but they aren't too bad so it's forgivable.

The only bug I found was on level 15. Your hover lowers your character size enough to use fly to bypass the buzzsaw size basically allowing easy cheese at the beginning of the level. Not a big deal but maybe it matters to you?

MadNukin responds:

Level 15 was on purpose, I've always loved playing games where you can find a way to manipulate the situation to your advantage but it's not a must.
Thank you for playing and for the great review.
