Reviews for "Crisis Command"

Interesting concept, but it needs a lot more. Utilizing minimal mechanics and having content are two different things

I am quite confused by this game. At first, I thought it would be too easy. Well, maybe I could get medals easily. I realize it's hard to understand. I'm not into games like this. I appreciate the little details even if it's not that well detailed.

I still got a score of 250. Is that good? There was no sound on this. I might have just missed something. I guess the sprite work could have been better.

Alon-Tzarafi responds:

Well it's a strategy game after all, even if it's a simple one.
And some of the achievements are NOT easy to get :-) About score, if you see the score achievement it's for scores of 1200 and up.
About the sound I didn't add any sound/music here because it's almost a background game. Maybe I should have... Especially if it confuses people.

I like the idea, it's truly minimalist game. The task itself is not really difficult and afer a few minutes it becomes really boring. Especially having no sound. I accidentally left the forest theme going in the background and with that the game was more cozy.
Theonly pain in the game was the wheatfield on the far left side. The workers seemed to almost never get there unless ordered which always killed off my tiny little pixel guys.
The game lacks upgradeability and more actions, like planned planting and other buildings, make a healer role, etc. Of course this would make the minimalist style to fade. At least make the trees to grow back.
Also, it was very annoying, that the citizens almost only learn weapon usage if ordered but if they run into a field or a tree they worked on that and never went to the teaher.

Alon-Tzarafi responds:

The double wheat stack on the far left side is almost never visited by them - you have to specifically order them to harvest it if you sense a food shortage coming up in the near future...

Same with the weapon teachers...

I'm starting to regret not adding any sound to the game :/ So I might add a music track (at least) soon

I like the idea, but it needs a lot of work.
The game gets very boring incredibly fast, but if you put more work into it,
i (and multiple other people) could give it a much higher rating.
A little more control would be nice, and maybe more enemy types, and more materials to collect.

Other then that, this could be a very good game, all it needs is more content, and better controls.

It's OK, but limited, there's too little control and after a while the peeps don't randomly go far enough to get any more trees, and you've got enough stuff killing monsters that you can't tell them to get more trees. Bit of tweaking and this could be a lot better.

Alon-Tzarafi responds:

I intentionally let the game field deterioration to make a point and to make the game end eventually. It's supposed to be a short game. It's just an experimental game.
But I learn from the comments people really don't feel good about "leveling down" or about not being able to control everything. We gamers truly are control freaks :)
I guess if I release another game of this style I'll get the mechanics to meet some more conventional gaming needs.
