Reviews for "COLOUR RUSH"

It's beautiful. Unfortunately, it's not very fun to play. Thumbs up for the artistic side.

JmPrsh153 responds:

Thanks for the review, what would you like to see or experience in order to make it more fun?

Eeeeeeh, concept completely stolen from the game "INK"?! (available on Steam, check it out people)
Good job replicating it's mechanics, but "Rush" side of the game is just double-jump and wait, over and over again. Felt pretty repetitive and dull to me after the sixth second of play. Too bad :/

JmPrsh153 responds:

Hey yeh we already stated that we used INK as a reference and that we wanted to test 're creating it's mechanics but for an endless runner and to release for free whereas INK is costly.

We will be updating the game also

Also the rush element comes from your life depleting and you have to rush to the next checkpoint to refill and carry on etc

medals dont work ... game is okay

If I didn't know any better I would honestly think this was stolen code from INK which has a similar game play mechanic but INK actually feels polished and is a full game, this feels more patched together in my opinion. It's too similar and even though it's supposed to be like a endless runner the mechanic is just too similar to me.

I would just say try and come up with some new game mechanics to use, you seem to be alright at coding so just use that on a more original idea.

I'm not trying to be harsh in any way just saying something more original would probably be more popular! Thanks for reading my review.

Hey thanks yeh i basically used INk as a reference because i was a big fan and i wanted to see how well i could replicate its mechanic but in an endless runner game. INK was made in GameMaker whereas i use Unity so i was up for the challenge :)

I will be updating the game at some point but im off for 2 weeks so im unable to make changes untill i get back :/

The central mechanic of this game is really flawed. It's fun to glide through the level and watch your guy leave a trail of paint behind him or to splat the whole area every now and then to find hidden walls.

But you never really get a chance to do the first part of that without the risk of losing all your progress. So for most of the game you're moving slowly, watching for the 1-2 paint blots that shoot out in front of you to hit something, and repeating the process until you hit the checkpoint.

Next time add a way to shoot more paint in front of you so you there's less interruption in your movement. Otherwise the game either moves too slow or relies too much on lucky jumps.
