The depths of philosophy could never conclusively establish such a thing to the satisfaction of all.
Personally, since getting an early start means the creation of new music either way, I fail to see the downside!
I certainly do not see it as a waste of time, though waiting does have its own merits.
Fortunately, it is merely an allowance, not a mandate. Free will is far too important to be undermined.
