Been meaning to respond but hadn't gotten the chance. I'm not entirely sure what the best tips are but I'd say honestly just draw what you like! Maybe find a couple of artists or art pieces you like and try to think about why you like them so much and practice with those every once in a while. But the most important thing is to have fun when you draw and to draw what YOU want. Welcome to the club!

My current goal is shading. After a day of frustration, I finally get how to effectively sharpen a pencil with a knife, how to finish that off with sandpaper, how to shade effectively, the real differences between the different graphite grades, and a few other things I'm trying to remember off the top of my head. I am far from mastery, but I'm finally getting the gist of it enough to where I get consistent results.
