As we venture into the dead of winter, I think I can reasonably assume everyone’s finished their Thanksgiving leftovers. Good, because you’re about to lose your lunch.
Welcome… to the Pokémon Mystery Meat Collab!
Banner art by co-organizer @whimsical-wife
This collab is primarily about PETA’s “Pokémon Black and Blue” game, though any other horror or dystopian Pokémon AU (including your own!) is fair game so long as it abides by the below rules.
How did this messed-up alternate universe get to be that way? What would your favorite Pokémon character look like if they appeared in this hellscape? Want to recreate an iconic horror movie scene with Pokémon? Or are you just dying to know what exactly a Pikachu’s innards look like? Now’s your chance to find out!
The final product will be a compiled artwork (like DioShiba’s “Pokémon Mystery Lovers” Collab), and should be at most rated M for violence/gore and some explicit text. You’re welcome to be a little bit racy with your entries, but zero nudity, pornographic content, or non-consensual sex of any kind beyond the loose implications that you get in these kinds of film posters. I’ll be the judge of whether you’ve crossed the line. (And also please don’t fetishize the gore. That’s concerning.)
Start date is today, December 13th. Deadline is February 29th, so I can post the compiled art on March 6th, the anniversary of Pokemon Black and White’s release in North America.
(Hey! Are you not a big fan of horror? Like your art a little smexier? Come join DioShiba’s “Pokémon Mystery Lovers” Collab instead!)
Rules:
- You can draw Pokémon, canon characters, or fan characters, keeping it on theme.
- Dimension requirements are, like the other collab, 500x500 minimum and 1000x1000 maximum. Unlike the other collab, a background is required for entries to this one.
- Keep it fictionalized. Do not make references to real-world incidents. If it’s run through a filter, such as being based on a movie whose fictional antagonist is loosely based on a real killer, or a music video for a song about a real incident, it’s fine. (TLDR: Yes to slasher films like Psycho or Halloween, no to documentaries like the Dahmer Netflix series.)
- Don’t worry about quality, just do whatever you can normally knock out in a day or two.
- This collab exists to be edgy and humorous, not to spread a message. Unironic Team Plasma supporters will be fed to Ghetsis.
Feel free to ask me any questions you have! We don't bite... at least, I personally don't.
