I retried and got to lvl 43 then quit.

It is a very hard game to do at first. But once you get the hang of it then it will be a piece of...VIRTUAL CAKE!

Now there are a few suggestions I have on how you could upgrade this...

1 Every 3-4 levels you get +10 hp.

2 Speacial powers, like, System crash (it would make all enemys stop for a short time.), pop-up blocker (allows you to choose some enemys and take 1/2 of their hp.), Pay-day (it would give you 2x the amount of money you get for each enemy for a certain amount of enemys.), DELETE (it would destroy 1 random enemy and give you 3x the amount of money you would normaly get for that 1), and of course all of them would need to be bought and would take a while to recharge.

3 A create a map mode, you would be able to make your own map, with as many rounds of enemys you like up to 50, set up starting cash, starting power ups, and sooooo on.

4 anti lag.

5 cheat code section, when you die at a certain amount of rounds in normal game play you will get a cheat code or two, 30-first two power ups, 40- all towers build will be at max power, all 50-infinate cash.

So there, I made a few suggestions that I hope you will use, and really this is a good game but gets boring at lvl 36...

a defence game to remeber

I was expecting something a bit different then congrats after you beet the boss in lv. 51

Some ideas to help those finding it to hard, maybe every 5 waves there is an easier wave to help regroup

And for the lag maybe you could stop the background from moving I also found it to be distracting until I found the blackout feature.

other than that it was an awsome game, and i think ill play 10 more times before the day is over

Nice job, but very hard!

Very good job. A very classic defence game. I havn't played a game good as this for a really long time. It's really hard though. I got to level 45 and blew up, dammit. Some ideas:

Health upgrade
Powerups
A customized turret
Control LAAAG!

But overall, you did a great job.

Hey, really creative... BUT FREAKIN' IMPOSSIBLE!!!

Pluses:
+Brand-new ideas based on old conceptions;
+Gameplay which demands tactical and logical skills to be involved;

Minuses:
-The game is really hard to beat;
-Graphics could be much better;
-Sound is very, very poor.

VR Defender Y3k is based on Tower Defense, the additional map for WarCraft III. Nevertheless, it has a lot of new ideas. You are given a map and the “base” which has to be defended at all cost by building the towers, which shoot the enemies.

No matter what difficulty you will choose, the game will seem to be really hard for a player with any gaming experience. Hardcore gamers, here’s a chance for you to test your skills! The difficulty depends on the form of the map: it’s “easy” if it has a lot of routes reachable for the towers, and it’s really hard if it has only few.

Overall, you have 7 types of towers to build. The first one, the Machine Gun is really weak and has a small shooting range, but it costs only 50$. Pretty good for the beginning. The next ones,
Flamethrower and Ice Cannon cost 200$, have a giant shooting range and attack power. They are the most usable in the game, because they’re an optimal weapons (if are built in large numbers). Don’t forget to sell the useless Machine Guns to clear space and gain the perfect positions for more powerful weapons. The last four have to be called “monsters”, as they are the perfect destroying machines. Too bad, but their cost can allow you to build only few of them during the whole game.

The graphics of the game reminded me of Neon, an Xbox Live Arcade game, but they are poor anyways. All the enemies and the towers are drawn with simple circles, triangles etc. DizzyWeasel, try using “Modify > Shape > Soften fill edges…” (available in Flash 8 and higher) after transforming the lines into fills to make the graphics look more good. The photo with the space panorama moving on the background doesn’t look beautiful at all.

The sound is really frustrating and poor. There is a possibility to select one of the three music loops, and each one gets pretty annoying when some time passes. The sounds of shooting is very quiet and ugly. The sound has to be modified. A lot.

Despite the ugly graphics and sound, VR Defender Y3k is a perfect experience for advanced gamers, which requires a lot of strategy, tactics and logic. I expect the author to re-submit the game with updated graphics and SFX. Good luck.

Great style, shame that's it's only a copy

Good job, but if you already have a slightly original style and background setting (for the genre), why not use it to the fullest with original features? A cyber-defender game calls out for new and interesting kinds of defences (firewalls that block the way, anti virus agents that actively seek enemies, a tool that changes net structure on the fly etc) with refreshing mechanics, not the same boring towers.
