Great Game, But...

I only played a little bit in the beginning, but the most striking feature of this game was its resemblance to many 2-D Zelda games. Even some of the sounds, like the sound when you use your shield or wen you strike an enemy, were taken straight from Zelda. (Ocarina of Time I think) Although the game is much like a combination of A Link to the Past, Windwaker, and Minish cap, (from what I can tell) it is still a thoroughly enjoyable game and has enough original content to differentiate it from the classic Nintendo series. But all that aside, it is a great game and should not be judged too harshly for any similarities between this and the Zelda series. I say 9/10 and 4/5. The gameplay wasn't too original, but the game was fantastic otherwise.

Buggy, but a great game--but now stuck :(

To Players:
Fun game. Good old-school adventuring fun. Run around a number of different islands, swing your sword to slay monsters, explore, and solve a few minor puzzles along the way as you save the inhabitants of Reverie from... their reverie.
Something I wish I had realized right off the bat is that there is no benefit to killing every enemy. In a few rooms, a door opens when the room is cleared, and occasionally enemies drop useful items--but for the most part, you can just run right past them.

For the author:
Loved the game--I think it was a lot of fun. But a few suggestions I would have for you;
This game isn't on an SNES. You are not limited to a few buttons on a controller--so in your next game, PLEASE improve the interface and make it mouse-friendly. It was frustrating to have to press space-left-a-a-a-down-down-down-down-
down-a in order to change a menu option or equip an item.
Instead of having such a roundabout way to equip a secondary weapon, why not just allow changing weapons via arrow keys? 1 for sword, 2 for bomb, etc?
The game was quite laggy to me--but many games are, it seems. Still, I wouldn't have minded a lower-low quality if it would have sped things up.
When you try to equip the armor, nothing happens.

Here's where I'm stuck. Yes, I know the code is 2143. It appears the relevant buttons can only be activated by the sword or bomb. I have not found a way to make anything happen. What do I do?
If the upper left button is "1," upper right is "2," lower left is "3" and lower right is "4" then this has to be a bug, because nothing happens, even though I make sure each one turns green. If that isn't the right interpretation, PLEASE spell out in your walkthrough which button corresponds with which number.

Your in the wrong room. From the room with the sign go down. Then go as far right as you can until you find a room with step switches.

Definitely a big flash game.

Lots of content here. Haven't played it all yet. Honestly I'm just getting started. It's definitely a big improvement on the last one. I have noticed a few glitches though, and the game is a bit laggy depending on the size of the area. One glitch I found was the appearance of arrows before I had a bow to use them. Enemies, rocks, and bushes dropped arrows which disappeared when I collected them because there was no bow. An arrow was actually the first thing I ever picked up. I was a bit confused. They appear all the time and I still don't have the bow yet. Another weird glitch that seemed to happen when lag was really bad was a weird glitch with a rock. I picked up a rock, then as the character was going through the rock throwing animation, countless rocks started flying out. By the time the rock throwing animation was finished, I had thrown enough rocks that I got about 15 bombs, several arrows, and enough money to buy the first armor upgrade. It only happened once, and the game was lagging terribly at that one point for some reason. Those glitches were mostly harmless, though the arrow drop is annoying since it could have dropped something I can use. There was one harmful glitch I found though. It has to do with the game detecting my going through a door, and its detecting that I was in range of reading a sign. Both of these are big issues, though not necessarily glitches. I'll often find myself rolling past a door and I suddenly go inside though I didn't go through it, just past it. I've often found myself pressing "a" to roll when I'm nowhere near a person, yet it still says I can talk to them, and does so, then proceeds to allow me to roll. If you hold down the roll button and roll into an area where you can talk, the person will begin talking, and the same goes for signs. The way these issues can cause a harmful glitch is if you roll past a door into a sign. I rolled past a door and into a sign, and the game tried to go into the house and make me read the sign at the same time. I appeared in the house with the dialogue from the sign up, and was unable to make the dialogue go away, since the sign wasn't in the room. I couldn't move, so I couldn't leave the room. The game was essentially frozen. Fortunately, I could close the game and reenter it by loading the game from the start menu, which got rid of the dialogue. Still, I think it's pretty bad if it totally freezes the game.

Aside from the few glitches, this is a wonderful game. Lots of content and lasts quite a while. I can tell LoZ: Wind Waker played a big part in the inspiration of this game. I look forward to completing this, and to any future titles from you.
