Reviews for "Sky Quest"

Wonderful game. Just got the 100% on hard medal. I did notice some things that could be tweaked though.

I found the game started out really hard and then actually got easier all along the way to the end. By them time I got to the end of normal I had like 50 crystals in the bank. I never had to pay cash for anything. All you have to do is make sure you are starring each level as you go. The post final boss levels are quite hard, but you can level up your gear quite high to handle them. You can also start the hard mode to level up your hero and gear and then go back to the challenge levels.

The store's items auto level to be better than what you have, which is nice. The bug here is that it only seems to auto level from gear purchased from the store. If you find / craft something, the store items stay at a lower level. If you find yourself in this situation, just buy that low level weapon from the store and go out and back in to the store and the store item levels should be at their proper level.

Gold drops as a whole are very low, but items are worth quite a lot of money to sell. Selling items is how you make enough money to buy things. The in level gold and perks to boost gold output are kind of useless.

The level up points also seem pretty useless. I put half the level up points into hero damage and the other half to hero health, and at the end of the game, I am getting 200 points damage from these level up points and 13000 from equipment.

The max mana is locked at 300 near as I can tell, so the active spells are too mana expensive to use. All I did was get L3 grenade and L3 shield to move on the passive boosts, and this worked well for the whole game.

Another sweet Berzerk title! I like the way levels are kind-of randomly generated, making the occasional grinding to get good gear or 100% a level more interesting. But there were a few things that irked me:

1) No local save?! I started last night, left the page, came back this morning and found I had to start the game all over again. Granted, I'd only gotten to the end of act 2 but I had some sweet items from random drops that I'll never see again ='(

2) The hitbox feels like it's much bigger than Conquest's head. I'm sure I saw at least once a shot hit his body and hurt him. Given the huge chunks of health you lose with each hit and no invulnerable period after a hit, feeling like you're getting hit when you shouldn't have is irritating.

3) The homing missiles and meteor storm seem to do very little damage. Compared to the grenade, which straight-up kills whatever I shoot it at and maybe some things around it, these two skills have no effect on the enemies in front of you. Seems like the giant rain of meteors that consumes all of your mana should kill at least one enemy.

Love the game. Each level is short enough and with somewhat random enemies you can try a failed level again and hope for a less potent force lining up against you. Horizontal shooters are one of my favorite games to play and this game provides excellent graphics, tight controls and a nice challenge.

But at some point in the game it simply stopped giving me stars for completing a level 100%. I would see the graphic tell me I completed a level and when I went back to the map screen the level I had just completed it had a star over it. However, going into the skills menu... no star. Sigh... I have no idea what happened but I missed out on about 5 stars in a row and there is no way to go back and redo the levels unless I want to start the game over from scratch. I am also approaching the level 25 (currently 21) and I am leery of the level 25 "wall" some of the other comments have alluded to.

BerzerkStudio responds:

Hey!
Thanks for the feedback!

For each stage, you can collect a Blue star once (otherwise, you could play the first level over and over again to grind super easily). After 5 blue stars, you get a crystal. You can see in the map and world map which levels you have 100%-ed, if it's a red circle, it's not completed, if it's a blue circle, it's completed but not aced. If it's a blue star, you have done everything there, time to move on!

The skills however, require orange stars which are required in chest, after gaining a level, or completing 3 missions.

I hope this is more clear!

Neat game as always, Lachhh! 5 stars!

BerzerkStudio responds:

Thanks man! :)

great game, with nice graphics, story and weapons. I spend more time on it than I should. Especially since i dont like these kind of games. But there is at least one problem, and that is the hit box. While it is stated in the game that hit box is the head, it looks like the hair is sensitive as well, and since they wave a lot on the air, you can easily get hit anywhere close. If not for that it would be a great game.
