Reviews for "Zombie Society - Dead Detective"

ahh, am stuck at the part when you've got all the evidence but still have to make the 'dead'uctions. heheh. Can't seem to figure out the combination that makes the game go forward. must be missing something... grrr. ;) this is fun tho'.

Muja responds:

Thank you, I'm glad you liked the game!
If you're still stuck at that part, you could check a video walkthrough of my game on youtube, at the following link:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gS4bhv8YCbI

If you skip to the end of the video, you should see how that guy solved the case ;)

Muja always make such high quality games. Probably one of the best point and click games creator on newgrounds. Always high quality games.
( I am still waiting for a ninja turtle game like Ghostbusters lol)
What made me sad what that I could not get all medals since newgrounds didn't register them. Wish there was a button so that the game would check if my save file registered all medals and resend them to new grounds. I removed the auto save but when you finish the game it seems to make a forced save. I was not able to get last medal even through I had 7/7 score.
Idle Dungeon Master implemented this recheck for broken medals wish more games would too.

Muja responds:

Hello!
Thank you for your nice review! There are times I think I should make a simpler game, but that would be no fun!
If I had the time and resources, I'd be tackling even harder projects! :D Maybe in the future...

But I'm really sorry about the medals. This time, I didn't associate any game variable with them, so loading the game wouldn't tell Newgrounds which medals you gained before.
But the system you mentioned is a good idea, and I'll try to remember to implement it in my next game

Thanks again!

P.S. As for the Ninja Turtles interactive comic... I DID start working on it, some time ago: I even have the script ready. But times have changed, you can't go casually using other party's sprites like before. So I gave it up.

That means I'll focus on original characters and content, from now on :)

This is a surprise. Its charming, Its challenging, and dare i say "to DIE for." If this is a representation for your game coming out on Steam, then I say you made quite the sale.

Muja responds:

I really hope my game on Steam will be BETTER than this - I'm going to spend some money on the art, of backgrounds especially, and I'll try to make a more complex design for each case, shake things up a bit.

Anyway, I'm glad you liked the game this much, thank you a lot for your kind review!

Very good prequel to the Zombie Society interactive comic. I liked how this showed how Margh met his sidekick.

Good things about this game that I liked a lot:

-The setting of Zombie Society - an interesting unique world created by author of these games.
-Good plot.
-Multiple endings.
-Interesting characters.
-Many medals.
-Good graphics.
-Animated cursors.
-Excellent music, very fitting tho the theme.
-Good tutorial. Not that it is required for anyone who has played an adventure game before, but it shows how thoughtful the author is to little details.

My personal favorite part of this game is the shootout scene. It's always interesting how adventure games handle action scenes if they even dare to contain them and I must say this game managed that perfectly!

There are a few things that could be improved like there is no full screen and replaying the game to get alternative endings and medals takes a lot of time, but I liked the game so much that I cannot reduce the score for these small things.

Looking forward to more Zombie Society gaming including the commercial game!

Muja responds:

Thank you a lot for your detailed review, another one of many that are making me really happy! :D

It's true that action scenes are very hard to replicate in a point & click game, but many others have done it before me, so I had a pool of ideas to choose from. TellTales series have done a lot in this regard, especially in their Sam & Max series.

Anyway, I'm very glad you like my games that much... And I'm happy to say that many more are on their way! :D

I am addicted to this game series! I love the graphics, the music, the characters, just everything! Great job on such an amazing point-and-click game series! I definitely would love to get it on Steam. I don't think I have ever enjoyed a point-and-click game as much as these that you have created! I hope to see a lot more!

Muja responds:

Thank you for your very kind review, and sorry for my late reply, but I've had a few health problems during the past few months (nothing serious, I had to have surgery but all is well now!)

Now I'm back to work, and a new episode should be online soon. After that, I'll be working full-time on the Steam game, I hope you'll like it!
