Reviews for "Blind Blade"

it is a really nice concept, it needs a little refining though, sometimes it's not responsive enough which costs you a life, and sometimes it's not clear why exactly did you die, but i had fun playing it

It's the first game I played for the Jam, and I really liked it. You did it alone? If so, wow, congrats for that. The graphics are good, and also the idea is somehow innovative. The gameplay is easy to learn either, besides the game itself it's hard (well, at least it was for me).

The rating is just for not seeing how the game could fit in the theme "Good Things Come in Threes". To fix that, some background story could help, but I know it's an arcade game at all. And you did it nice!

Congrats! :)

Pretty nice concept, but like others have said, definitely needs to be fleshed out more, as well as more refined communication to the player as to what's happening at times (sometimes it seems like you die for almost no reason despite there being seemingly no attackers nearby, other times I'll attack and hit someone I thought was a long distance away).

Also would suggest not immobilizing the player if they block a hit, as this leads to some no-win situations. Definitely an awesome concept and generally pretty well done though, especially for a game jam!

Learning curve is a bit steep. As it isn't obvious right away that you are attacked by both other swordsmen and ranged attackers, nor is it obvious that you get a mercy on the first blow. I still love the sensory mechanic and the heartbeat soundtrack, both do a good job of emphasizing the premise.

I'd like to wish all fellow game designers and artists good luck in the Construct 3 Game Jam!

What to add, combo based attacks, faster movement speed. a sort of audio representation of the enemies and surrounding, ie. bad guys, furniture. 6.9/10. Reference hyper light drifter. Needs some work but has potential to be a real thrill. Good job!
