Reviews for "Faraway: Puzzle Escape"

So... it's Myst.
Don't get me wrong, Myst was a great game, but this is basically Myst or Riven. It's not bad as they go. I had fun playing it, but the thing is, I'm glad someone took the time to make a Myst-style puzzle game that challenged the player with some different styles of puzzles.
Your one caveat is that you don't offer the full game on here, we have to go and download the game, which makes this just a demo, if it's not the complete game. I welcome more games like this, where you have to think your way through, and replay value comes from trying to beat your previous time and score, but those notes don't seem to able to be found. I mean, Covert Front was a lot like this, as was Submachine and other games. This just ends up feeling like a 3D version of those other puzzle games, that you made for a tablet or phone.
So while it looks good and plays well, the caveats I mentioned make it less fun than what would get the full 5-stars from me. Maybe you can offer a full version in the near future, here on NG. Until then, a decent effort from a professional company; nothing new or innovative, very conventional, and reminiscent of greater games with similar premises.

Hoo-eee, that third note on level 6 was a doozy! I really liked how the clue became a less obvious, but wasn't so hard that guessing was too difficult. Learning how to find the third notes was a treat on lvl 1 as well.

I really enjoyed this game, with the various kinds of puzzles, the notes to add a plot and backstory, and the almost perfect level of difficulty for me (this was on the easy side, but not so easy where I was bored).

My only real complaint is how the view was obviously made for mobile, so it didn't completely fit on my screen. This led to me frustratingly trying to move the screen from side-to-side, only to be propelled forward somewhere, since I was unable to see the double arrow at the top letting me know when and when not it was available.

Also, your cookie-cutter replies were a little off-putting (Thanks! Our mobile... for purchase), as it feels like our reviews aren't being read and considered for their content, and only are seen as a venue for promoting the app. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with advertising your product, and wanting to get some revenue for your hard work, but at least make the replies personable and relatable. For me, it made my decision on whether or not to purchase the app. But maybe I'm just sensitive to good marketing ;).

This game is quite good. My only suggestions for improving the game:
* Let's face it: In games like this we have to click everywhere in order to find everything. Many times after a click the game will move forward to a new spot, so then i'll have to go back to finish searching the first place. It's a bit irritating
* What's up with all the clay-pots? I think none of them had anything inside.. still it made me feel like a vandal destroying these ancient pots...

Lovely!

very good, short but good ;)

thats wat she said

MouseCity responds:

You got more free levels (3 levels) if you download app instead :) and thereafter you can choose if you like to purchase full level package ($2.99) or single level package ($0.99) or something else OR not at all :)
