Well, this was a pretty decent experience. A small side-scrolling platformer and shooter that puts you under stress continously as your power slowly drains... as such being quite fitting for the Ludum Dare theme. Luckly you can recharge it by killing enemies and grabbing cristals. Adding to that we have multiple levels, weapon upgrades and even a boss fight which made it quite enjoyable. However it unfortunately doesn't bring much more in the terms of originality from a gameplay standpoint. Also the Dash and Power Toggle where not immediately evident that they could be used or what purpose they served. All in all, while I will always have nostalgia for these kind of games, it just falls slightly short of being a perfect masterpiece. Still fine work and keep it up for the future.

Didn't Like It
The look of this game is absolutely beautiful. If Mega Man X and Sonic the Hedgehog had a baby it would look like this game. The music even matches that aspect beautifully along with the sound effects. However that's about all the positives I could say about this game. The controls are what killed it for me. I tried each control figuration and I still could not get a decent grasp of them. Then there is that barrier of bricks that you have to shoot through which is just tedious as all hell. What's wrong with the classic WASD control style? Move and jump with the arrow keys, shoot with S, dash with D, power toggle with W, and aim up with A. The controls did not make it fun to play which is a shame because this looks like a great idea for a game. Mega Man on a strict time limit.

Very unpretentious game, but still not the worst.
Classic Sonic + Contra = Running VoltGun
The stages are based on Sonic genesis stages and villain similar to eggman an evil genius.
Gameplay similar to Contra.
This game feels like it could have been a Genesis classic. The music, tight controls, classic shoot em' up action, multiple power-ups. It feels good to play. Kudos to you, SinclairStrange.
