Reviews for "Satanorium"

stupid and unoriginal

I didn't like this game at all. It has nice graphics, but it's gameplayis pretty bad and it's story is not only totally unoriginal but also pretty much lacks of logic.
First of all, what really bugs me with all the games of this kind is the darkness. Some darkness is acceptable, to set the mood, but the problem is that I have to turn my screans brightness to its maximum to even see the ojects!
The other problem it that the tool us in this game is a pain in the ass: first I have to click on the inventory, then on the thing I'd like to use and then on 'use'! It takes 3 clicks what in most games can be done with just one! (Becouse they have the inventory on he screen, you just click the selected stuff and than do whatever you want with it.)
And for the graphics: it looks good, but shouldn't this building be an OLD and ABANDONED hospital?! Then why are there so much stuff around, including modern things like computers and air conditiors? It looks as if they had left everything behind when left and even the looters avoided the building! And why is it in such a good shape? It looks like it could operate with no problem - they don't abandon buildings without a very good reason!
About the story and puzzles: a haunted old hospital where terrible things were done with the patients: I can't even think about a more clisé story! Same goes to the things that should make this scary: just a few suddenly appearing scraeming, bloody ghost girls. I encountered these things so many times I'm pretty immune to them, it's time for something new!
There are many illogical things in the game: even the begining with the guard: it's ok that there is a guard and he doesn't let you in, but that he wants to arrest you when he sees you? Wtf? It's not illegal to be there!
So you knock him out and get his stuff (no gun, wtf?), and the flashlight that was in his hands has no batteries! And you can't use the lighter as a scouce of light either! (etc.)
The puzzles are way too simple, except for those where you get no clue at all wtf you should do! Like the generator: it's not hard to add up the fuses for a specific number but how should I know that it should be 20? There was no clue for the password for the computer either.
There is also a lot of pixel hunting (wichis just graet when it's combined with darkness!). It's good that there is a walktrough, like that at least I won't get stuck becouse of some stupid hidden oject.
Well, after so many flaws I hope you understand that I can't give you a good score. You get that 2 for the graphics, it's really the only good aspect I could find.

Boo!

I was so excited... it looked so promising... the environments were great, ambience was sufficiently spooky, I was stoked. Then I couldn't figure out the very first thing without the walkthrough (god forbid you don't click on the guard at the right time). Okay, moving on. Then there was no clue to the generator, which others have complained about but I was lucky enough to have been trying multiples of five and got it without cheating. Then I discover it's one of those games where you can't pick things up until the game wants you to, which potentially nullifies the pixel-checking you do on each screen as soon as something gets accomplished. The safe- ahh the safe... here i was thinking it was clockwise, then counter, then clockwise again. Nope, two rings, which didn't even register on my mouse at first. Then come to find out your clues are wrong! Your clues state "First is two, 2nd = 3, third is first and fourth, 4 = twice first, five equal second" Therefore, the code should be 23643 (third is first and fourth means third is 2 and twice 2, or 4, which is six). however the walkthrough shows the code to be 23463, which I cannot get to make sense from said clues (i.e., the clue for the third number (1st and 4th) by your answer would mean it is 8, not 6 which is right, OR 4, which is your answer). Very sloppy! The safe is hard enough without false clues to retard the process!!!! Got frustrated, tried to read reviews, which unloaded the game (stupid me). So I jump back to it, prepare to run-through it all again to that point, and lo and behold if you turn on the generator before grabbing the scissors, they disappear! After a while I came back, gave it a third and final runthrough, found the pentagram clues to be fairly off-kilter (recommend one color, recommend against another, but it's the third color that does the trick... hmm). And a clue SOMEWHERE to tell which symbols are called what would have been nice. All in all, meh. Such potential, I can't wait to see what happens when you really apply yourself.

just annoyed me

first of all, i could not "use" the stick to bash the guard, i had to combine it...retarded

then i can't cut a fuckin rope with a scissor ?

im sorry but common sense is nowhere to be found in this game

lame

was playing for like half an hour until i got frustrated and looked at the walk through for a little advice on the next step. . . it told me to light the rope tied to the door on fire with the gas can and lighter but every time i tried it wouldn't let me. . . wtf

Iffy at best

I was amused at first, but you just got lazy man. At the end, grammer went out the window. It was a little cliche too, as if you tried to combine Hostel and Constantine or something. It seemed to me like there just wasn't a ton of thought behind the story, and I agree with the no pop up thing. Just makes it corny.
